Jamal Murray goes 10⁄16 from 3 to finish with 37 against the Jazz, now shooting 43.8% on the year

7.5 attempts a game in a career best year for Jamal Murray
I wonder if he gets to All NBA 2nd team if Ant and others miss the game min.
I think he’s second team no matter what. He’s better than Brunson, my second team is Edwards, Maxey, Brown, Murray, Mitchell.
Oops! All combo guards
Ant gotta be first team if he plays enough games
Nah Kawhi has been better than him and crazy enough has played more games than Edwards lol. Edwards is right there tho I just think the top 5 players this year (SGA, Wemby, Jokic, Doncic, Leonard) have just been on a different level than everyone else.
Denver have the best offense in the league pretty easily
It just depends on whether they can put together a good enough defense
I’m not sure I see a route to it happening atp
AG has looked like he had absolutely no burst tonight and relying on him to last 4 playoff rounds is next to impossible
Peyton Watson’s hamstring looks like it’s going to be an issue going into the playoffs and with both hobbled I don’t see the path to beat SA or OKC
With AG on the court they have the 4th best defensive rating though. The defense comes down to if he’s healthy or not.

I say we miss playoffs
We miss the nba itself
Relegated to the gleague 😭
They lock in a lot more in the playoffs imo
Right. They’re not going to reveal their hand until the playoffs.
Wouldn’t say they have the best offense by far. It seems like they put up huge numbers against shit teams
We put up huge numbers against good teams too. Dropped over 120 points against the Thunder last two times we played them, if we can do that to the Thunder’s defense we can do it to anyone. Defense on our end is the only thing holding us back.
They do it to everybody. It’s just that the opposing teams are also dropping 120+
actually they kinda do when they are locking in lol. honestly their title chances really depends on AG’s health and consistency for the defensive side. and his 3 point shooting can be really helpful. healthy nuggets from this roster is honestly so scary, the problem is we havent even seen it one so its just in theory. its a hypothetical until shown in the playoffs. otherwise san antonio and okc have shown it. although san antonio also lack playoff experience
All-NBA! Years ago people were calling him the worst contract in the league. What an absolute stud
That assist off the glass was insane
Is it up yet?

Murray is legitimately an elite tier offensive player. Especially this season (and every season in the playoffs).
I have him on the same level as Booker.
Personally I think he’s a tier above Booker this season, prior to it tho they were very similar
If Murray got the defensive attention Booker got he wouldn’t be close to these numbers.
Murray is a supreme tough shot merchant so I doubt that. When he’s on a heater which is really often these days it doesn’t even matter how you defend him. He’ll dive through 3 defenders for the layup or shoot the three right over a taller defenders raised arm.
Yeah but my point is that stopping Booker is the main priority for defences against the Suns. He sees doubles, triples, and countless blitzes. Teams cant do that to Denver so Murray gets the easier attention every time.
I would have agreed with you before this year but we got like a dozen games with Jokic out and Murray playing where he DID have to contend with defenses focusing on him as the number one option. He still held up, his splits didn’t get worse and he averaged genuine All-NBA 1st numbers of 28/4/8 on 50/41/87 shooting. It’s a down year for Booker with regards to his 3 point shooting. I think it’s fair this year to say that Murray is having the better season compared to Book and has shown he isn’t just dependent on Jokic’s gravity, since he had the chance to step up and did.
doesnt watch the nuggets, opinion not rated. i think the tier above booker is not right, he is definitely on the same tier as booker as of this season. but i do think booker and joker is better than murray and joker theoretically. as a player who would u rather have with their prime, its obviously booker. his midrange is insane.
Spacing is massive when you combine Jokic and Murray
On top of that Jamal is an amazing midrange shot maker in his own right. Shooting 49.5% from 10-19ft on 305 shots this year
Book is shooting 47.4% from 10-19ft on 390 shots this year. You add in Booker shooting 32.7% from 3 to Jamal’s 43.8% and it shows how much better he’s been offensively even accounting for Bookers strong area
i was more thinking prime. i do think murray is better than booker this season.
Yeah I’d agree there
but ur def right about the chemistry and fit.
Bro Murray gets absolutely mobbed. When Jokic was out he was getting doubled constantly and still making crazy, consistent shots.
Murray gets full court pressed all the fucking time
Forget defensive attention, Murray and joker combined are way worse than booker at defense, don’t let these nuggets fool you.
Murray and joker also have a championship under their belt…. how many does Booker have again?
So I guess Kyle Kuzma and Jokic are on the same level by that logic?
/s
lol talk about this season, you guys can never be real with yourselves. Jokic is the worst defender in the league.
Okay, this season these horrible defenders are miles ahead of the Suns.
When has he led a team like booker
When has booker led a team to success? When he was a #2 the Suns were at their best. Jamal is the best #2 in the league for a while, KD with the warriors is the only clear better #2
Yeah no I’d argue Jaylen brown the finals mvp as a #2 has been the best
When he reached the finals and he was the #1 on that team?🤦♂️ Jamal has been an All Star once lmao
Was he? CP running the offense at a MVP level was pretty clearly the more impactful NBA player. Booker scoring offball is definitely his best role. That said he’s grown so much as a playmaker and in running an offense since then it’s easy to forget he was a #1 only if you consider scoring the most important aspect of offense those years.
Edit: also the original take clearly specified this year. Seems wierd to bring up past years or total all stars when considering just this season. Booker has clearly been better in seasons past!
Chris was a dud for those finals, his scoring was not there. Booker would still be guarded by the best defender unlike Jamal
You think Jrue holiday would be on Jokic and not Jamal Murray? lol
KD Pubes was on fire tonight
Murray also had the longest made shot of the night by about 20 feet, in addition to having the most made 3s of the night
Best duo in nba
remember when he was a ‘bad contract’
pepperidge farm remembers
Not even joking, you can probably argue that he’s been a top 10 player this season or at least very close to it
I think he’s handily in conversations with Brunson and KD rn who most would consider in the bottom half of the top 10.
He’s been comfortably better than both, top 10 easily
lol
Lol
I don’t think there’s any argument for Durant being better than Jamal this year. Unless you want to make it?
Maybe not but Brunson is for sure better
Mal has had the better season by almost any measure
Hard to compare a primary creator to a second option next to maybe the greatest floor general in the league right now. How did he perform when Jokic was out? I didn’t watch those games tbh.
That’s fair, but saying Brunson was “for sure better” is nonsense.
Jamal was great when Jok was out: 28/8/4 on 50/41/87 splits. While dealing with constant double teams because, along with Jok, we had other dudes out at the same time.
good argument
That dude see the Jazz logo and flashes back to the bubble every time.
Crazy good player.
When Jamal is hitting like this, the Nuggets are basically an unsolvable math equation. You either double Jokic and let Jamal drop 10 threes, or you stay home on the shooters and get dissected by the best passer in history. Pick your poison
I was told he’s not on the level of Jaylen brown at all interesting
Rockets are scared rn
They’d be the favorites if Gordon was healthy, curious to see what Watson looks like in the playoffs
wish he could do that in the playoffs
Trust me, he can do that in the playoffs.
Flair checks out
He does that in the playoffs
He, in fact, is better known for doing this in the playoffs than doing it in RS.
The effect Jokic fan propaganda had on NBA discourse has to be studied man
‘He’s never had a good teammate in his life, not even an all star - he plays with plumbers’
Mfs forget Jamal is and always has been a straight up bucket lmao
I swear this sub has the memory of a goldfish. Prior to this year, there was an overwhelming amount of people on this sub, Nuggs fans included, that truly believed Jamal was the worst contract in the NBA.
prior to this year, he always started the season out of shape and ramped up 2nd half the season. it’s why his overall season numbers usually looked pedestrian.
his value, again.. prior this season, was being the GOAT playoff riser (#1 reg season vs playoffs ppg increase), but even that ebbed and flowed last year.
If you’re a nuggets fan you should be familiar with playoff Jamal lmao
Jokic fan vs. Nuggets fan
Jokic doesn’t have help though, that’s what they told me when he won mvp as a 6th seed
They should’ve told you that you were stupid as well because Jamal Murray missed that season with injury
He’s not stupid, he’s special.
Big brain clown here folks
Just exposing ydkb with one sentence, nice.
Again with the luka pushing? Its spread to every fucking inch of this sub, and all its going to amount to is a 3rd place mvp case. Lmao you guys are pathetic. If this is how the lebron stans were back in his prime, then i can see why everybody hated bron
The Wemby push is artificial and people like you bought into it, it’s either Luka or Shai anyone can see that
A guy averaging 24ppg isn’t mvp no matter what media hypes him to be
Your post history is crazy.
Man you cry about this a lot
