This is his 2nd most efficient season ever though, even with the post-injury relative slump. Not sure if anyone has ever gotten to 67.3% TS% on over 25 ppg, that is his current mark.

Bro its all very simple. Jokic got robbed by Embiid in what was easily his best MVP case. 1st seed and a 70%TS. Because of that, he got favored specifically in 2024 when he had a down year by his standards and Luka had a historical offensive volume season while still being efficient and nearby in the standings.

Wilt lead in Rebounds and Total Assists in 68, but Oscar Robinson had more Assists per game (9.6 to 8.7 for Wilt).

All of his passes really. He telegraphs a tiny bit more and is a tiny bit slower. Which for most players wouldn’t matter but he loves threading the needle on passes which any other player wouldn’t attempt because they’re so risky. He either has to be more cautious or get his passing speed back. Because not only does it cause turnovers but those passes would usually lead to points. So it’s a 4 point swing when he can’t deliver.

Teams are just ready for it now. He gets impatient and throws it up court. He needs to just take it up and run the offense.

He’s doing that so he doesn’t have to run down the floor…

My only concern with Jamal is he gets tunnel vision sometimes. Working with Jokic he’s happy to kick it out but otherwise he can drive into a triple team while Hardaway and/or Cam are open to force a middy. To his credit he often makes it but sometimes it’s just not the right play.

SGA’s fucking bullshit silk nothing but net Michael Jordan level fkn shot drops from every spot is infuriatingly impressive how consistent it is.

If we balance WL with individual performances, I’m taking Wemby. A 60+ win season as far and away the best defender in the world putting up a very efficient 25 and 12 is crazy work. There are several guards who aren’t quite as good as SGA who could run the OKC offence and the team would be just about as good, I don’t think anyone could replace what Wemby has done for SAS.

If he didn’t take a step back but still returned the same I still think Shai would have a slight edge due to availability, plus him also having a God-tier season of course.

If Jokic doesn’t get injured and maintains a similar pace though… that would genuinely have a strong case for the best regular season ever played lmao, considering he hadn’t missed a game by that point. If he played around 80 games at that level, that is a clear MVP season even this year considering Shai also missed a bit more games than usual for him.

Yeah i’m not gonna argue against jokic’s case for mvp, especially with a nuggets fan. He definitely has a claim and he and nuggets fans should feel like he should be the mvp.

Personally I’m still going with shai because best record in the league, broke wilts 20 point record, advanced stats off the charts, box score stats off the charts, efficiency off the charts, and he’s doing this pretty much by himself since no one else on the thunder can generate any offense. Just my take on it
