IMO it’s between Luka and Shai for doing the most memorable stuff, Luka averaging almost 40 is insane and has been leading to results while Shai has been a clutch demon. Wemby has been good but I just don’t think he’s delivered at the same level. Jokic while I love him is definitely out cause he had a few bad games this month that stick out like a sore thumb in what has otherwise been amazing.

Is my math right? I’m thinking now it should be FTA / (FTA + FGA) since fouls don’t count as field goals, so the % spread wouldn’t be as bad, but SGA still runs away with it.

I think better math would to use (FTA / 2) in that radiation instead of FTA since you get 2 FTA on average for an attempt you were fouled on.

That would come out to -> FTA / (2*FGA + FTA)

Check the last few games. Its double + help in the paint or fouling in 1v1. And the refs are allowing more contact on him but he is scoring anyways. He is currently in the clutch ¹¹⁄₁₁ since 17th and 76% since he returned from injury.

I don’t see how home vs away makes a difference though, and the sample size is small enough that it’s prone to outliers.

For example, SGA’s 25 FTA against Detroit was a lot and was an outlier, but the Pistons do play a physical style of defense and lead the league in team fouls per game—if you watch the replay of that game, there are hardly any fouls on SGA that weren’t definitely fouls

I really hate this obsession with clutch metrics. You wouldn’t need to be in the clutch if you had made the “clutch” shots before the 4th quarter. There is nothing magically special about variance causing someone to hit their 4th quarter shots in a small sample size. Let me know when he does it for a whole season, and only then will you be able to claim it’s anything other than variance.

Luka is the player of the month. I won’t say it isn’t close because that’s disrespectful, but choosing anyone other than Luka is pure cope.
