His longevity is undersold in general. People underestimate the developments in medicine, science, training, diets and other relevant fields since his retirement and especially since the early 1990s (or the start of LeBron’s own career) with all the computer tech.

Not long ago torn ACL/MCL/Achilles were career enders, nowadays they are still severe injuries, but players recover well from them.

LeBron never played with Prime Wade outside of 2011 He had 22-24 y/o Kyrie for 2 ¹⁄₂ seasons (Kyrie was injured to start 2016) AD was injured a good majority of 2021 and 2022.

LeBron was the undisputed best player on his team for 22 seasons.

Of course he has a good win % because of teammates too but he was the main guy for two decades.

Kareem farmed the awful 70s era and then played with Prime Magic while he was pretty pedestrian for his final 7 years.

LeBron is just NOW after breaking the all-time seasons record on a team where he has a player undisputedly better than him.

First of all, it’s not Kareem’s fault the league sucked during the 70’s. His job was to play basketball and he did that more than adequately.

To your second point, Kareem was very much a driving force for the Lakers even after Magic reached his prime. The FMVP in 85 is proof of this.

At the age of 38, in the 85 finals against the Celtics, Kareem dropped 26/9/5 while averaging 35 mpg. At 38 years old. What part of that is pedestrian, you absolute cabbage? He rightfully won that FMVP.

And yes Kareem gradually slowed down in production after the 86 season, but his last few seasons were hardly pedestrian. Go look up the stats and better yet, watch the footage of him in 87 & 88. There’s a 40 year old guy who was still very much a threat and had to be treated with respect.

Just a horrible horrible take from you there.
