[Highlight] Mike Brown gets to the ref’s face, complaining about the officiating and receives a technical foul (with a replay).
His 2nd tech of the season.
His first and only other tech this season was also in a game against the Thunder. Feels like this team really annoys opposing coaches.
Tech was missed. Apparently ball don’t lie
I am convinced that OKC studies the refs and adopts strategies around it. I think most teams should do that and put more emphasis on this. Refs are part of the game too and a really big part, and I think that is the future of basketball, at least the future of NBA.
I mean they have to have a whole analytics department that would include this with any game prep, right? Heck, FIFA video games a decade ago were telling you ref tendencies.
Yeah everyone does it to a certain degree. I think they go beyond most other teams when they do it though. Like really dig into ref tendencies like they would a player. How Lin broke down Luka they break down ref tendencies. I mean this is all bullshitting but this is my thoughts.
And for Scott Foster case they just give him fat stack
I also wouldn’t be surprised if they literally practice how to sell and get away with fouls. They’re too good at it as a collective for it to be coincidence
Every team already does this and have done for a long time. Shai is just very good at it, and the “hack everyone they can’t call everything” is a strategy as old as sports 🤣
You’re right and I hate it
They clearly do, it’s smart, they’ve talked about it before I believe. It’s annoying to watch, because it makes the refs a central factor.
Like can you imagine what it’s like when they play pickup? What does that even look like?
Yeah, I think for sure they do. They’re really good at committing the kind of illegal contact that you can get away with.
All good players and teams do. But I think OKC takes it to another level and gets like analytics on how much they can push it before certain refs call a foul.
reminds me of that one offseason clip (idk if it was last year or this year) where jokic was actively talking and learning with some refs in training facility. such a smart and hardworking player, he knows what he has to do so he can access advantage over others, no wonder he is top 3 player always
lol another no flair hidden comment guy. Dont be a pussay man, spew your hate, dont need to hide. scared of some online points?
Having said that all power to OKC, having refs advantage is huge, and why not?
brother what
i was praising jokic what did i do 😭😭😭
also i have no flair because i enjoy watching any team. i did like warriors the most when i started off on nba in 2021 but now im neutral watcher because rooting for one specific team is just insane amount of stress
Dumb ass
lol fuck u too
I thought Coloradans were supposed to be smart?
Pussy ass comments and posts hidden
I feel like Mark said that they did this last year.
What do you think this even means when you say it
It’s a crap future then
They definitely do and should. Everyone does, some are better than others. Theres clips of Kobe talking about studying where the refs stand so he knew where he could get away with more because they couldn’t see him.
But only OKC has thought to do this.
lol OKC is so good they got yall wilding out on conspiracies.
They just actually try to play defense in all 82 games. They don’t wait for games that matter for seeding or for the playoffs. If every team did that they’d be better off
Yeah if every team fouled the shit out of their opponents they would win a lot as well. The part I don’t understand is WHY the league would want a fake ass city with a stolen team and a ton of unlikeable players to win all the time.
Can’t beat em, whine about em.
Christopher Finch would never.
Coaches and players are not immune to narratives. It’s helped us in a way cause it’s baited coaches into making terrible challenges against us to prove a point lol
I’ll be annoyed too when you breathe on SGA and it’s two FTs
Pretty justified today ngl. Shai just has a different set of rules, which is especially wild considering the physicality allowed for OKC’s defense.
Shai isn’t apart of this play. Hope that helps.
I’m obviously speaking within the context of the game. Feel like that’s pretty obvious if you’ve been watching
average okc resident iq
Ahh there’s the education comment we all love to see
We love it because its true
New York has a lower literacy score than Oklahoma
https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/us-literacy-rates-by-state
Using English literacy score for a place with one of the highest immigrant populations compared to bumfuck Oklahoma. Really living up to that OKC.edu ✌️
So because New York has a high immigrant population, that makes English less important to learn? Great take.
And that’s also kind of bigoted to assume it’s the immigrants who can’t speak or read English at a high level.
You seem to love statistics so why don’t you do some more research and come back. Here let me help: https://kids.britannica.com/kids/article/statistics/399866
Besides you’re the one who put out the statistics brother, what analyzing too hard for you?
[removed]
wow! a state with an entirely white population barely edges out a state who’s immigrant population alone far exceeds said states entire population is better at speaking english! who would’ve thought
lol New York is 56% white Oklahoma is 66%, Oklahoma City is 55% white btw
You’d know if you weren’t as confidently ignorant as the average Oklahoman
my mistake for saying white, but my point was that one state is filled with people who come from around the world and don’t speak english, while the other state is filled with people who were born in oklahoma. 38% of NYC is immigrants, 6% of oklahoma is immigrants. i’d hope that oklahoma speaks better english
Again very bigoted of you to assume it’s the immigrants who can’t read or speak English at a high level, if you would like to show some statistics then go ahead.
it’s definitely not bigoted lol. i myself am an immigrant to moved to the US at a young age and didn’t know english. here is a stat that that shows that around 1⁄4 of the entire NYC population is limited in english and HALF speak another primary language at home. also i could say the same, it’s bigoted that ur basing people’s intelligence on their ability to speak fluent english
https://www.nyc.gov/site/civicengagement/about/language-access-plan.page
The projection was intense with that guy 😭😭😭
So people talking about Oklahomans education isn’t bigoted? It’s okay to make fun of everyone from that state but bring up the fact that NY has a lower literacy rate than Oklahoma and that’s bigoted? Immigrants are still New Yorkers, I’m not the one trying to separate them from everyone else like you are. And I never said that they had lower intelligence because they can’t speak or read English at a high level, but nice straw man.
can’t touch SGA and OKC defense murders people irl
upvotes to the left!
This is hilarious. I’ve made this exact comment only for the thunder bros to get an alert and push it negative.
Bro isn’t even part of this play. These people are delusional
Pretty reasonable given the favoritism to OKC in terms of the calls they get
The refs are getting that Oklahoma oil money
Thank you Mr. Silver, keep rigging it for Oklahoma City!!!
The calls were CRAZY in favor of the thunder
Oh my god it’s almost quadruple FT difference at the end of Q3
The refs have been beyond horrible this game.
Bullshit officiating but the sad violin music is so funny
Brunson is a very good flopper and very good at grifting fouls, but there are levels to this
Anyone who is actually still calling Brunson a flopper clearly does not watch him play.
We all watched Brunson slap himself with Nesmith’s hand. Funniest flop of all time.
Every player has their moments 🤷🏿♂️
Overall however he isnt a flopper.
SGA, Deni, Trae, Embiid? Now those are actual floppers.
Most games Brunson is playing ethically and gets fairly low FTAs.
Does he have his moments 5 times a game?
Now I know a thunder fan ain’t trying to talk here 😂
First tech of the season was against the Thunder.
I’d be curious to see stats on coach ejections per game when facing OKC compared to other teams
This is clearly a foul lol.
Theoretically, if a coach could rack up 16 technicals in a season, would he be suspended for a game like a player would?
i dont know what he is complaining about tho… he was already in the ref’s face before cason drew that contact, so that;s not it. what happened on the other end that trigger his reaction?
It’s so obvious
Very nice stiff arm too
read this as mike breen at first and was slightly confused but supportive
i like this
lmao at the sad music in the background
The Knicks have about 4 more wins this season than they had last year. I don’t think the coach swap has worth the disruption to the team. This team, with 1 year of more chemistry and mastery of Thibs system would’ve been just as good or better. Mike Brown was a pointless lateral move.
Mike brown is yet to have a successful challenge in any of these games. Challenge the calls if you don’t like them
at some point the amount of coaches getting techs for complaining about officiating against the exact same team has to do something right. like it’s insane lol
Why should they award complaining? If coaches are rewarded for complaining against OKC, wouldn’t that induce other coaches to just complain more? I honestly feel like that’s kinda already happening with all the positive responses from other coaches complaining, though, im curious how this translates for OKC in the playoffs.
because its just not possible for them to All Be Full of Shit if its about the exact same team getting such insane free throw differentials
Huh? Okc isn’t even in the top 15 in Free throw Attempts so what exactly do you mean by insane free throw differentials?
What im saying is that the more possitive response is given to one team complaining, the more teams will complain, It would then become incentivised to complain if it’s rewarded and then you can no longer trust the complaints.
i know what you meant. but theres clearly something unreasonable about the way OKC is officiated compared to other teams and theres no official channel to complain about it to other than the actual refs.
It can certainly be annoying for sure, I just feel like that would be a boy cries wolf situation, and no one would take some of the valid criticisms seriously. But yeah, I understand some coaches just have to get it off their chest, im just talking about rewarding it.
It’s so gross watching a game and then it’s always whining about OKC fouls. Yes the league is favoring OKC, it’s not that there a good team and draw contact from aggressive defense
Blowing on the thunder is considered aggressive defense and a flagrant foul
Mike Brown, Nick Nurse and Chris Finch should sign up for group therapy
Imagine being a Thunder fan when the refs stop kissing your teams ass. That’s you when the bill comes due.
Truly a nothing play to get a tech on. Easy foul. Honestly, if you all think this is shows that the league favors us, then no argument will help. It’s pure delusion at this point.
Clearly wasn’t complaining about the defensive foul by Hart but of course OKC fans chooses to be obtuse.
Do you see a foul on Brunson?
So what was he complaining about? Literally nothing in this video is crash out worthy
Betting has compromised Integrity of NBA.
Chris Finch school of convenient excuses. It’s easier to cry than it is to actually coach the game
It’s easier to flop too.
It’s easier to complain about non existent flopping than it is to actually make an attempt to understand the game of basketball
