I think there’s been several important games for Orlando this year that they’ve basically no showed. Something clearly needs to change there, and I’m skeptical that just changing the coach will be enough.

Banchero legit sucks as a number 1 or even number 2 guy. I don’t know if he can ever change his game to be a role player down the line, but this experiment of him being Orlando’s number 1 option needs to die.
His stock is never going to be higher than it is right now (and it’s fallen significantly since the start of this season even). Orlando should absolutely package him for whatever possible good assets they can get, there are still pretty stupid front offices in the NBA they can still swindle which they won’t be able to do 1 year from now.

He’s pretty intelligent, and at least knows how to get the set moving; but he’s just too slow to be a playmaker imo.
The defense just has too much time to react, even when beat.
He’s also not a good enough shooter to make the defense pay for backing off a step, which means everyone else becomes even less open.
I think the Melo comparison falls apart when you get to Paolo not being a shooter, though. Melo was a dangerous scorer from everywhere on the floor. Paolo is not. So the attention they command from the defense is totally different.

To be fair to to Banchero Mosley doesn’t put him or the rest of the roster in the position to excel on offense. Not putting all the blame on Mosley but under the right guidance and development in these formative years I think Paolo would look much better.
I think everyone fairly assumed that Bane was the key to unlocking another level for Paolo along with internal growth for a player of Paolo’s skills and expectations. Bane has been basically what they’ve asked for as a volume 3 point shooter who can run pick and roll and probably help Paolo get into advantagous spots but it hasn’t translated to Paolo getting more efficient and we basically have more of the same from him. It’s probably both Mosley being non creative and Paolo kinda stagnating
Bane is hardly being utilized as a volume shooter because Moseley is trash and doesn’t know how to. Per 36, Bane is attempting the lowest amount of 3’s in his career. Tied for 8th most on the team, averaging as many attempts as Anthony Black.
