[Highlight] Andrej Stojaković and his father Peja Stojaković embrace after Illinois advances to the Final Four
The Kings win the lottery and promptly pick him 1st overall
I’m down for using a second rounder on him though!
He needs to stay one more year. Great finisher but the shooting is still sus. Peja can help him with that lol
Thats a gamble.
He will turn 23 by the start of 2027 season.
He’s already an older rookie this year and if he stay for another year it’ll be even more of a disadvantage against him
I feel like older rookies outside of the lottery are going to continue to be more common again so that is a factor to consider as well. It depends on how much it still hurts in the NIL era.
Peja’s kid being a bad shooter upsets me more than it should
As the commentators have mentioned in every Illinois game this season, it’s funny how Andrej is a great scorer but in a completely different way than his dad. If he can fix his broken-ass jumper, he could definitely be an NBA rotation player one day
I think hia decision making is holding him back much more than his jumper tbh
I’d guess his dad has tried. And at his age probably not good odds to change.
I’d always use Peja in the 3pt contest in nba live 2005
You cheated LOL.
My buddy had Live 05 and if you took nothin but Peja threes he’d start hot, have a mini slump and then never miss again. hed win by a comfortable 20 we had to put the ‘no Odd-Job’ rule on that team
12 year old me just thought he had a cool jump shot form. Haha
I mean, he’s had 22 years side by side every day with one of the greatest shooters ever… If that didn’t work so far I don’t really see what will…
peja managed the kings g league team before stepping down to help his kid
Wasn’t he really hyped a couple years ago, has he fallen off the draft boards that much?
U nutz nxt yr he will be top 5
He’s about to turn 22 bro.
No lottery team should take a 23 year old in the top 5 next year
So what, some players come in and don’t do shit at 19, 2I i rather draft someone that knows how to play the game and the kid can play.
You’re acting like hes a sure thing.
Its gambling 19 year old vs gambling on a 23 year old.
Older players are not guaranteed immediate production. The NBA is quite different from college, every pick is a gamble.
If hes so good to begin with Illinois wouldnt be his 3rd college in 3 years.
There’s also a ton of empirical data - the history of the NBA draft - that shows 23+ year olds are rarely taken in the Top 5 of the draft, especially this century.
The last time a 23+ year old was drafted in the Top 5, Bill Clinton was president. But I’m sure Andrej Stojakovic will buck the trend, lol.
And your acting like the kid can’t play age don’t mean shit so many players come out young and do jack shit. This kid will atleast be able to contribute. And stop acting like u don’t know who is daddy is it’s in his dna.
His dad was a mid tier all star who relied on skill. Skill is not genetic, and we’ve seen players who are wayyyyyy better than Peja have kids who aren’t good NBA players
Do you know when the last time a 23+ year-old was picked in the Top 5?
Answer: >!Michael Olowokandi - 1st pick in the 1998 draft by the Clippers.!<
Bonus question: Do you know the last time a 23+ year-old was picked in the Top 5 and had a memorable NBA career?
Answer: >!Dikembe Mutombo - 4th pick in the 1992 draft by the Nuggets.!<
We wouldn’t be able to take him then, no way we’re getting that lucky 2yts in a row
Kings could be handed picks on a silver platter and Nico level trade deals and still find a way to fuck it up. Source: live in Sacramento.
Just how they picked Luka lmao if he’s the right fit for the Kings, they’re definitely not going to pick him in the draft
Peja looks great.
He would be killing if he played today
That kings team in today’s game would be so fucking good
He was killing it then. 03-04 he was lead dog on leading team and leading the MVP race comfortably til Webber came back and fucked up the chemistry.
Yo wtf I didn’t even know peja was ever an mvp candidate, let alone favorite?
He was special that 03-04 season. He threw the greatest pass of all time and was absolutely Curry levels of unstoppable from 3 with some young Ray Allen mean to him.

Ur just wrong lol garnett was always the clear favorite. Was a historic season from KG, at no point was peja favored over him
Yea they may be carried away a bit. He was never the favorite to win MVP. KG damn near won that unanimously.
Nope. He was the leading scorer in the league on the #1 team with the best record until the last 25 games when Webber returned
I mean it is still an exaggeration. He was not the leading scorer that year (TMac) by a pretty wide margin for scoring races, and never averaged TMacs season ppg for a single month.
As for the actual mvp voting, he finished 4th with 281 total voting points and one first place vote. For comparison: 3rd place was Jermaine Oneal with 523 total points, 2nd was Duncan at 716, and KG won with 1219 out of 1230 total possible points and 120 out of 123 first place votes. He was not a serious contender for the award, more in line with how Jaylen Brown might receive votes this year if one of the top 4 fall out of eligibility. Someones gotta be 4th, doesnt mean they were close to first
Yeah, every year around it was heavily contested. KG’s unanimous win stands out like a continent around islands. That year was no contest.
I was curious and looked. Besides Stephs unanimous season, only Lebron in 12-13 with 1207 out of 1210 possible points and 120⁄121 first place votes for a 99.8% share and Shaq in 99-00 with the same voting numbers beat out KGs season.
His season is WAY better in hindsight and with advanced stats. But nobody thought he should win over kg
He was absolutely never a favorite but he did finish 4th that year and managed to get a 1st place vote.
Still top 5 is just as surprising to me. I never thought he was that level of dude
What did Webber do again?
Webber was injured the year before. He came too soon when he saw that Peja had stepped up and the team might be on a championship path without him.
His return and PT tanked the team from 1 seed to 5th seed as he replaced Brad Miller in the lineup whom was having a career year and WAS PERFECT for the synergy: the second coming of Bill Laimbeer without all the evil.
That season ended with Webber taking the last shot and missing a corner 3 which was a Peja play lol
that was probably our most complete, well-balanced team of the greatest show on court era:
Then Webber came back, killed the chemistry, dropped us down, then when he was finally starting to gel with the team in the playoffs, Peeler threw an elbow at KG in G6 of the west semis and was suspended for G7 which was punctuated by, like you said, Webber rimming out a three as time expired on a desperation shot.
Yet another chapter of a cursed franchise
NBA Live ‘03 GOAT
ITS THE YEAR 2003!!!
He does but he also looks exactly like don jr. 🤮
he’s a former male model
Former? He should be modelling right now!
Why would he be a murderer?
One of the greatest shooters in NBA history
He hasn’t been drafted yet, but i like your confidence /s
One of the greatest passes in NBA history too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxMLH0K-CM4
damn, Peja walked so Jokic could trot
I watched this live and it was absolutely bananas. One instantaneous and sweeping motion, Jackson doesn’t break stride, catches it like Jerry Rice and just makes the lay up like he couldn’t miss.
Pinpoint pass, huge distance, and behind the back. Just a bonkers play and I haven’t seen anything like it since
Unreal, I watched him (as a 17 year old player) in Greece and at the time he was destined for the nba, he was that good. You look at Luka today but honestly Peja could have killed it in today’s game.
One of my top 3 favourite players growing up. Blew me away
Former Mavs here. We loved Peja. We don’t win that title without him. He’s beloved in Dallas forever.
Your WCF series in 2011 was all him. Straight up turned back the clock, let his Lakers hatred out, and destroyed them.
We don’t win that title without him
ehhh not really
Sacramento Goat
Thought it was Don Jr. like damn can’t that family let us have anything??
You’re way too obsessed with Trump
Relevant flair
You think about Trump too much
Legit its getting so wild on reddit. Farthest thing from a conservative but every single thing, the furthest topic, somehow gets tied to that dude. Like man i may seem dramatic but at the same time Reddit should get on an app upgrade where you can filter out any posts of your choosing.
Askreddits a karma grab now anytime this dude says anything “how does this make you feel?” Lol man
He’s literally doing a lot of shit that’s worthy of talking about.
to talk about in an NBA subreddit? Obsessively discussing someone you despise on a social media website almost does nothing but harm to yourself. All im saying is reddit has subreddits to discuss that but a lot of people (not speculating with you) have a karma problem or just think reddit is an americanized bubble but it isnt. Just tiring for those of us that want to avoid it having it pop up on the randomest of posts or subreddits
Completely valid and absolutely unhinged you’re getting down voted, not even remotely surprised though. God forbid we don’t want Trump and his bullshit slammed down our throat every time we pick up our fucking phone.
Every subreddit every article every page. Oh my god.
ILL baby!!!
INI!
INOIS
So interesting to me that Peja’s kid just isn’t a very good shooter at all. Regardless he’s turned up the past couple weeks when Illinois needed him most
I play with a father son duo at the gym. Dad was in PBL for a while and has a great shot, perfect form. The son just sorta chucks it. As a father I can tell you sometimes kids just don’t listen.
Picking up those kings teams in 2k and letting it fly w peja was fun.
If i remember correctly he had a very interesting release.
Papa Peja looking great!
Mavs Legend
my fave player when i was younger. almost became a kings fan bc of him and cwebb. Almost… thank god.
Mavs legend
Mavs legend.
Can’t believe that after all of our battles with him and the Kings he would end up being a big part of us winning a Championship
Punjabi!
There was a time the sight of Peja was like, bloody hell not this guy.
Andrej, your dad was a certified shooter. If he’s half of his dad, he’s gonna have a long career if he makes it to the league.
if andrej could shoot 3s he’d be insane smh, elite defender, elite driver, great handles, great rebounder and good size.
Shoot that Bitch!
Thought that was Trump Jr there for a second
That Kings team was so special
Peja looks younger than his kid
Peja has aged nicely!
Peja looks like an actor I don’t remember the name of
Can someone get Peja on a podcast and ask what he was thinking when he did a 80 foot behind the back pass over a defender to Bobby Jackson for the layup? Like did he actually think all that was going to work?
I wonder if the Kings front office offered him a coaching staff job. 🤔
He already was director of player development during Vlade Gm tenure.
