Honestly, as a neutral I’m just sad we’ve now gone 4 years where Giannis was completely irrelevant come playoff time.

I personally think this sub needs more posts about Giannis and the Bucks and their playoff disappointments and potential trades.

That and arguments about mvp are really what make this sub great

Tough to win a playoff series without your #¹⁄₂ option. No Khris against Boston in 2022 either. Let’s not forget 3 of the 4 teams who beat the Bucks went to the Finals - it’s not like they were eliminated by chumps.

Still a shame that injuries have resulted in this. Milwaukee had an excellent decade run. 3rd in regular season record over this time. Yes we would’ve loved to watch more healthy playoff runs, but at the end of the day, Giannis delivered a championship for Milwaukee for the first time in 50 years. No amount of slander from national media and internet haters will take that away.

I’m glad that he won his ring before his body started to give out on him. The Bucks were willing to go all in for him but now we’re seeing what that looks like when it doesn’t work out.

Misleading title, this is the first time the bucks have missed the playoffs in a decade. And this is the first season where Giannis has spent a significant part of the season injured. 2023 was a freak injury, and 2024 was unfortunate timing.

He hasn’t handled the trade rumors in the best fashion, but acting as if the front office is somehow being puppeteered by Giannis into making bad decisions in laughable. Whether he’s worth a massive draft haul depends more on the trade market of the league in general more than the talent of Giannis himself.

Considering where he was when he was in his teens…. I’d say winning a chip, getting millions of dollars for him and his family, and getting picked as the face of a global ad campaign for Nike over Anthony Davis… it’s a pretty good run.

Been getting serious 05-07 KG flashbacks these last few years with Giannis. Probably past time to pull the plug. Bucks FO is at least better equipped to handle a rebuild than Minny’s was back then. Or at least it’s hard to imagine them being worse.

Going to 9 straight post seasons is very impressive for an organization who before 2017, hadnt won a playoff round since 2001.

Love Giannis and I hope he is able to play for a long time at a high level and have more deep playoff runs. But for a player of his caliber, his playoff resume blows. And I don’t think you can have him top 3 anymore based on everything since 2021 postseason wise. I mean it’s been 5 years now. The top 3 guys always have their team in playoffs and having decent playoff runs on near annual basis.

Between a big foot on the line, a torn hamstring, and a very questionable rebounding position, Giannis is a very, very lucky man. Change any one of those factors, and about 5-10 people have very different legacies

Giannis doesn’t care about competing as much as money. Otherwise he wouldn’t do such a lame stunt with Kalshi where he strung other teams’ GMs along. That’s fine, but we shouldn’t expect much from Milwaukee for a while.

Giannis has peaked imo. He’s slightly to very overrated among sports media too. Hes terrific don’t get me wrong but he had a unique and talented group with him the year he won. His playstyle isn’t highly sought after nor needed. He can’t shoot, requires 100+ touches a game, and as time goes on seem to be a source of turmoil for his team.

I think it’s been team mismanagement more than anything else. Unless giannis specifically asked for Dame that was a bad pick for running mate. They also stayed with khris and Lopez too long. Although I’m sure it would have been hard with Giannis loyalty to khris. Myles turner also awful pick although for the money they had available for free agency you weren’t going to do much better. They also shouldn’t have extended and written off dame. Even if they only salary matched him they should have taken whatever they could get off the scrap heap

Basketball is better when Giannis is playing on a competitive team. I just hope they figure it out before he goes to a large market. I think that would be bad for the league
