This is one of the few times I’ll kinda halfway agree. Their team is actually fucked as far as health and assets so the odds of anyone doing anything in his position are low. He still sucks at his job imo but I think basically everyone would’ve failed this season at least

Has the roster construction been absolutely horrible? Yes.

The offense has been absolutely putrid under Doc’s regime. No ball movement, just players taking turns. When Giannis plays, it’s basically “give the ball to Giannis and pray”. When he doesn’t play, idiots like Kuzma and Porter Jr. are chucking up bullshit. But hey, at least Rollins has emerged despite all of this. There’s still zero identity to this team, they play like headless chicken. Even when Dame was healthy, Doc wasn’t able to figure out a way to get the most out of Giannis and Dame. I remember games when Dame was basically degraded to a spot up shooter while Giannis was running into a brick wall. Great coaching, Doc.

Meanwhile, the corpse of Taurean Prince is rotting on the bench with two other Antetokounmpos because why the hell not, gotta keep Giannis happy, right? Stretching Dame’s contract was the final blow, especially if the player you get for him is Myles Turner, a mid center who greatly benefitted from playing with a top 5 PG while being coached by an actual HOFer and not some hack fraud like Doc. Well, maybe the assistant coach is… oh no. Helluva hire, Bucks.

I mean, losing all of your championship pieces sucks. Middleton was washed. Lopez was old, but he shows that he can still contribute, although he’s clearly close to retirement. Getting Jrue was huge for their run, but losing him for Dame completely wrecked the defensive identity of the team. I get it, Giannis wanted a “real” co-star, so they got him Dame - and honestly, it’s fine.

Rebuilding around a superstar also is really hard if your team is not based in LA or NY. But it’s possible, there are many examples for teams being able to retool and compete for the championship again. But you fired your championship coach over some bullshit. You then hired an unknown coach who was fired due to players being unhappy - if the reports are true, the players actually might have had a point. You then got a “player’s coach”, a decent guy, but someone who has had ZERO success after that Boston title where he was carried by four outstanding superstars.

Look at Doc’s tenure with the Clippers. Listen to ex-players talking about him. They hate him because he’s incapable of taking accountability. And honestly, I think also Giannis deserves some blame in all of this. The eternal “will he won’t he” stuff severely hurt the team.

The Bucks need to face the facts. It’s over. Trade Giannis, fire Doc. Rebuild. You got a ring and that’s all that matters.

It was a transition year, but they ultimately needed to get younger.

They found Rollins & Dieng, but they really need to hit on their next draft pick, they can’t hope another team gives up on a young guy too early.

Giannis is still in prime form, but he’ll need younger players around him. While I think the guys will be good eventually, the real question is whether he’s willing to be patient.

You being a dogshit coach probably doesn’t affect this but might as well fix that first
