THE MILWAUKEE BUCKS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFF CONTENTION
With Charlottes win over New York on Thursday and their loss today the bucks have been eliminated from a potential play-in spot
Doc Rivers fired.
He shouldn’t have ever been hired
Bucks really tried every change on earth but get rid of the guy that’s consistently been the problem wherever he goes for like 20 years
I can think of another change they refuse to try
No you’re not getting Giannis, he’ll get traded elsewhere
If Adam silver wills it he will make it happen, after Luka I don’t trust anything anymore
We already had Kareem force himself to the lakers, if something like that happens again, we’re nothing but cursed.
I was one of Rivers biggest defenders up until a few years ago. My argument was that he usually put out good teams in the regular season, just could never put it together in the playoffs but now he can’t even win in the regular season.
But he should have been fired after last year. There must have been something behind the scenes because I don’t know what the thought process of getting rid of Griffin midway though his first season as they had the best or second best record in NBA at that point. How are they so patient with Rivers but yet Griffin only needed a couple of bad losses to get the axe?
I guess tbf is there another coach that would have succeeded with the bucks roster this year?
I don’t think any coach would have “succeeded” but they could’ve sucked less hard with someone else.
Personally, I don’t fault him for this disaster of a season for the Bucks, but it shouldn’t have gotten another job as a head coach to begin with.
I think they certainly could’ve been better. When Giannis only plays half the season we were never going to be great but I think there was just so many baffling decisions that made us much worse.
The talent obviously wasn’t there, but to be fair guys like Rollins, KPJ, Jericho Sims, Ous Dieng, and Pete Nance all way over performed their respective roles and we still sucked.
If all those players are over performing wouldn’t that be a sign of good coaching?
I don’t think doc is a good coach, but I would hesitate to use the 2025-26 bucks as proof of anything.
We have lost 4 of our last 5 games by 30+ points. He’s an awful coach that has completely lost the locker room at this point.
Doc Rivers is George Karl if George got along with Ray Allen
Rivers is an owner whisperer, that’s the only explanation. He must be charismatic as fuck at convincing these old white billionaires that he’s a competent head coach.
Any objective observer can see that he’s a fraud but he only needs to convince one principal owner that it’s everybody else’s fault and he’s the one who can right the ship.
He’s earned $150M coaching so he might actually be the most persuasive man on Earth.
Griffin lost the locker room almost immediately. It doesn’t matter if he’s the greatest Xs and Os coach ever if all the players think he’s a moron and hate playing for him. Doc usually somehow still has players liking him until the wheels completely fall off.
No one has done less with more than Glenn Rivers.
Why does this man keep getting hired. That one Celtics ring can’t hold this much weight.
He clearly carried those bums Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.
They should really stop hiring him.
Right when he got hired I knew they werent going anywhere
Same, in fact I wished the Bucks were a little more respectable bc they would’ve been an easy playoff W
Always made zero sense how the ran the previous guy out of town while being 31-13. Bucks are not serious. Care more about feelings than wins
One of the supposed reasons for Griffin getting fired is that he lost the locker room. And in regard to the Bucks that means one guy.
He should have already been fired. It’s embarrassing for the entire organization that he was allowed to keep his job this long.
To be fair, the Bucks hiring Glenn Rivers in the first place was embarrassing
Like dude blew a 3-2 lead when Tatum was shooting like buns for 3 quarters in that Game 6 and this is with his lengthy history of blowing leads in playoff series as is
There have been 13 3-1 leads blown in NBA history. Doc Rivers is 3 of those and no other coach has blown more than 1
i literally forgot doc is the bucks coach and i just saw him 5 minutes ago
Remember when the Bucks did a conga line when Adrian Griffin got fired?
30-13 but it just wasn’t working apparently
Adrian griffin had to go. The team seemed to hate him and were looking way worse than their record.
This is not an endorsement of doc. Players seem to like him more, but he somehow made the team much worse.
About four of those wins were over the Pacers during one of their “we’re gonna look like ass for a couple of months while we put something together” phases. (Weird schedule plus the tournament.)
The Bucks looked good in about one of those games, and Griffin failed to impress me much. I could see why they could use a change of coach, but I never quite understood the Doc thing.
If you were watching those game, you would know how awful it was even considering the good record
Now how is it compared to doc’s tenure?
Equally shitty all around. Neither coach is worth a damn
you can tell who didn’t watch any of those games when they tell you they should never have fired 30-13 Griffin
Context matters. That 30-13 was during arguably the easiest schedule in the NBA while winning nailbiters against the 2023 Pistons, we just traded one shit coach for another shit coach.
He is one of those guys that will always be handed a head coaching gig no matter how ass he is.
He’s been fired more times than he’s been hired at this point
Wonder who he’ll throw under the bus on his way out
Probably the food caterers and janitorial team
Until another team decides he can help.
I really don’t know how he’s still there in the first place
How he keeps getting chances is beyond me
got rizz
He has a losing record in Milwaukee. Idc who is around giannis or how injured hes been, that should be impossible
We going to get another Doc Rivers RDCworld1 skit?
He doesn’t deserve to be called Doc, he’s just Glenn now
Insha allah
God this was a miserable season in every aspect
Truly painful.
Hey at least y’all have Kalshi!
Bet—I mean predict—now where Giannis goes next!
Rockets about to throw everything on a hope and a prayer
Just wait. It could get worse depending on the giannis return
Wouldnt it be funny if he didnt leave? After all the bullshitting and media circus, Giannis not leaving would be hilarious.
The worst thing that can happen to the Bucks is he signs a max extension.
More specifically, the worst thing that could happen is he signs the max and continues his bullshit half-in, half-out, “I’ll never ask for a trade because I’m not the bad guy” bullshit schtick.
it’s basically the Dame special “look how LOYAL i am”
Tbf the franchise really failed Dame. Never made plays to bring in a good supporting cast AND drafted a project PG at the end. Really poorly handled. Also with him dealing with personal stuff at the same time… he handled it pretty well
Yea their situations arent even comparable, at least the bucks tried to make moves
Yea polar opposites, Bucks basically made any move they could. They didn’t work out sure but they kept swinging. Blazers just sat back and watched
Yeah honestly I never had a huge problem with Dame leaving. I mean sure, some of the loyalty stuff was a little overwrought all things considered, but as you said our front office did a pretty poor job building around him.
The bucks have consistently made moves to try to be contenders and improve the roster. Jrue trade, Dame trade, even waiving dame for Myles Turner. The blazers never had a roster that was ever seen as a real threat.
Nah that’s actually the best thing because then they are free to trade him after six months unless it includes a no trade clause and they will get an actual return for him as a non rental player. Or they can just keep him as a lifer either is a much better state than being force to trade him as a rental asset.
We can make it happen, just place bets on Giannis leaving
He learned from Dame
I’ve been thinking it over, and honestly, I think this is the singular worst season I’ve experienced for a team in all my years of sports fandom (important context: been a Jags fan for 25-30 years now). It’s not the worst from a results standpoint obviously - low-30s wins is bad, but not cataclysmically so. From a vibes and “how much did I enjoy watching this team” standpoint, though? If it’s not the worst, it’s gotta be close (maybe 2018 for the Jags).
Even for bad teams, there’s usually something rewarding about having followed them - fun games, exciting young players that are developing well, or at least something to at least vaguely have some hope for the future. This Bucks season, though? It’s just been dismal all-around. I won’t complain too much because we got our championship and overall have had a lot of really fun seasons over the past decade or so, but god has this season been awful.
What about Ryan Rollins?
He’s been solid and a good surprise for sure, but it just feels…empty, for lack of a better way to put it? Maybe it’s just the fact that I know it’s gonna be a while for us to be good enough for him developing to matter, idk.
Not a Packers fan huh? lol
Not from the Wisconsin area, so nope. Grew up in Jacksonville which isn’t particularly close to any city with a team (Orlando being the closest at like 2.5 hours away, so not one I’d really pick just based off proximity), so picked a team that was, at the time (2016), an underdog with potential and an exciting player to root for.
I would agree. I’ve been a bucks fan since I could form memories. This team made me sad to even look at the box score. Even the tj ford years into the bj3 years were at least loveable and had hope in a weird way. This was a funeral dirge
Players scrapping by to get to 40 wins, despite being less talented is way more fun than this team who doesn’t try at all on defense and play me-first offense.
Exactly. You know exactly where I am coming from.
This man watched Urban Mayer:
And somehow that wasnt the worst season one of his teams ever experienced 😂
You mean Myles Turner wasn’t your savior?!
If Doc Rivers went by Glenn Rivers he would’ve been out of a job a decade ago
Most overrated coach in NBA history by far.
It’s takes a special coach to take KG, the Truth and Ray Allen to one championship. Most probably would have won two
Don’t forget Rondo.
Celtics Rondo was so much fun
They probably win 2 if KG doesn’t get hurt in 09
Everyone mentions 2009 when they were literally two buckets short of a second title in 2010. If any two Celtics reached twenty points in game seven, they’d have two titles like the other superteams (Heatles and KD Warriors) and Doc’s legacy would be markedly different. It’s hard to win multiple championships, even with a stacked team
probably a perkins torn ACL from winning that series
Imagine how much dumb shit Perkins could say if they did win. We are slightly spared from some of that bull shit
Well yeah but that’s a lot of teams, if they just scored more points they would have won more theoretical titles lol. The final score was 79-83, so the Lakers also had shooting troubles that day- should we add some points to their score as well? The Lakers had some people score 20+, but Bynum scored 2 points. Should we drop Rasheed’s points from 11 to 2, and then distribute those 9 points to other Celtics players to make their points 20+? The point is that the Celtics lost fair and square, and were clearly outshined by the Kobe led Lakers who would end up winning 2 in a row. The Celtics were never close to the domination of the KD Warriors, or even the Heatles who in 2011 had the worst Finals performance in NBA history. Even with that negative performance, the Heatles still had a better legacy than those Celtics.
Yeah that was kinda dumb to say cause kg’s injury def was the reason they didn’t win two. Not doc
I mean they also did run into LeBron finally saying fuck it and going Super Sayian in Game 6 which kind of ended their window
If we’re being completely fair though this roster with Giannis playing 30 games is complete ass.
This season specifically doesn’t feel like a great example to use against him
Every season he has coached in the 2010s and 2020s is a pretty good example to use against him.
Yeah I didn’t watch too many Bucks games this year, but the team doesn’t even seem to have good vibes at least, which is honestly a coaches main job. I know Giannis had a hand in that due to his actions and words, but Doc really hasn’t done squat for Milwaukee.
Can’t add to your losing record in the playoffs if you don’t make the playoffs. Its called 5D chess gentlemen.
If I’m right and Giannis leaves this off-season, I don’t know when we will have a team worth a damn but it won’t be for a long time
At least we got a chip
At least we did
Gonna hold on to that for the rest of my life
Same, that 2019 playoffs was something special
Same
Two. More than some franchises could ever claim
i dont think giannis was on the team on their first one
I know that’s the nomenclature now but I feel like calling it a chip almost demeans how big of a deal that is. Your team won the NBA championship before your eyes. 10 teams in the sport have never done it, let alone ones who have done it during a time when the current fans of that team can appreciate it.
Switching sports, I would love to see the Lions win a championship. But are the Chicago Bears any different? How many people actually were able to enjoy that championship that are still alive today? Savor that shit because you got to witness it.
Millennial Spurs fans are ridiculously blessed
Agreed - will savor that championship for ever, regardless of the trouble/problems we’ll likely have over the next several years. I started going to Bucks games back when Frank Brikowski was our best player, and I was lucky enough to be at Game 4 of the Finals.
Few things in sports piss me off more than fans casually discussing their team winning a championship. You don’t have to piss yourself every time you think of it forever, but God damn dude, some people live their entire life and never see one at all. Some may never see one in their favorite sport. I’ve been incredibly incredibly fortunate to have seen two but neither was in my favorite sport (football).
Yall will be back for the 2030s
Welcome to being the Bulls
Which was mostly the Bucks before Giannis, so it’ll be like old times.
Brother this is the NBA. You’re all but guaranteed the first pick this year is you lose your star player due to FO incompetence
Except this year is the last first round pick for MIL until the next decade.
you got myles turner tho
honestly they have been eliminated since november, the math just finally caught up. atleast the misery is official now
They had a small chance up until that game a few weeks ago that they got blown out by Atlanta. Then it was really just a math problem.
Eliminated since they failed to trade Giannis this summer tbh
the math made better adjustments than doc
Now Giannis still wants to play again?
He is undecided, oddly enough
Damn undecided voters
Ken Bontetokounmpo
Damn this had me cackling
He would love to continue and see it through, his agent that he pays salary though is a witch that is whispering sweet nothings and corrupting him and poisoning the relationship between him and the bucks
THE GIANNIS TRADE RUMORS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL MORALE IMPROVES!
Get ready for daily posts for several months of:
”BREAKING: Giannis Antetokounmpo is considering trade offers.”.
And then Bleacher Report posting hypothetical trades.
I think we’re going to be seeing this post repeated every year for a long long time.
Shocking, I really thought they had a chance of clawing back from down 10 games.
And with that loss and Memphis and New Orleans eliminated earlier in the week, there are no more teams that can reach the 10 seed in the NBA
Congrats to the 20 teams holding a playoff or play-in spot right now! Your season will not end on April 12!
It’s looking like the rockets can reach the 10 seed with the way they’re playing
I’m gonna have to correct my post to no teams from behind that can catch the 10 lol
Why he say fuck me for ?
Remember when Bucks fans were so excited about getting Myles Turner? Lmao
Yeah he sucks major ass. He worked well last year cause yall had an actual system, and we have doc fucking rivers.
End of an era? Will be interesting to see how the arena will look like after Giannis
Milwaukee Crickets
Milwaukee Tumbleweeds
Milwaukee Ping Pong Balls
A fun thing about the Bucks before Giannis was the Bradley Center could still get rolling some nights even with the bad teams, because the get-in-the-door price wasn’t bad. Dropping into a Bucks game for $20 a head wasn’t bad!
But a Giannis-less team at Giannis-team prices is going to be a bloodbath for a few years until the owners adjust
Thank you for signing myles turner 🙏
Yeah, he confirmed ass. So not good.
I know Bucks fans hate us, but we really did try to warn them and they kept parading that he was the “missing piece” for Giannis
I don’t think anyone believed he was the “missing piece”. Most of us thought he was a perfect brook lopez replacement which he wasn’t even that
Turner was the first jersey I bought since I bought a pair, Reggie Miller/Jermaine O’neal in 2003.
Very disappointed on how he left the team. Whole thing felt like teenage girl drama. Turner didn’t have the awareness to just stop hitting the post button on social media.
Good riddance. Sorry Bucks.
Yeah Giannis is leaving immediately no questions asked.
Probably not his choice. We’ll be trading him whether he likes it or not.
Please God. I genuinely can’t deal with another season like this. At least if he’s gone, we can focus on the future and ignore the reporting.
Yep but I think it’s gonna be very mutual.
I know the offers weren’t the greatest at the deadline but the song and dance about staying was annoyingly played out, there’s just no way Cam Thomas, Kyle Kuzma and Myles Turner is convincing anyone of anything other than blow it up.
Thomas was just waived lol
Thank goodness!
Most overrated coach in our lifetimes. In any sport. Thibs and KG won that ring.
my GOAT eliminated before May for 4 years straight 💔
that’s rough
FADE EM
It was fun while it lasted. Back to the small market obscurity 😭
FADED
such a weird season and (potential) end to the giannis era in milwaukee, but at least they got a ring out of it
Fuck doc rivers, fuck jimmy haslam, fuck jon horst.
Giannis, we love you, but we’re completely tired of your shit. Make the fucking decision and do it soon. We can’t do this another year. Either genuinely commit to this bad team, not that half in half out bullshit, or gtfo and let us start the long-ass rebuild. We cannot go through this for another year.
If I’m I Bucks fan, I’m looking at what the Suns have done in a similar situation. Whether Giannis stays or not, the main thing is hiring the right coach for the rebuild.
Myles Turner did not deserve that money. Been ass all year. The giannis moving on from the bucks and where he’s going to go completely overshadowed their season
Hali brought his game to life and tricked everyone into thinking his value wasn’t declining
A new tank contender 😩
And with that the Hornets are in! Thank you for your service.
i said this would happen at the beginning of the season and you guys downvoted me to hell and told me i didn’t know ball.
reddit was wrong again
I love that Bud is chilling somewhere counting his millions that the Suns are still paying him while this is all going down. He never should’ve been fired
With the upcoming swaps it is now without a doubt that the Blazers picked the better Dame package. Heat fans can officially stop trying to push Herro + a rotational player + a mid first as somehow better.
That’s now the Giannis package 🤣
This has been a real fun and steady season
Atlanta Hawks now have a 40% chance to get a top 4 pick, and let’s see if they actually do or if there’s going to be some bullshit and we land with, like the number 9th pick
Sometimes things go as badly, if not worse, than you expected. And it makes you ask, “wtf were they thinking”.
Russ to LAL
Trump’s 2nd term
SAC becoming the Bulls of the West
Doc to MIL
I really don’t understand why folks equate wealth with intelligence and impervious decisions. Lots of dumb, wealthy, folks out there.
Doc rivers is a joke. Hiring him was the dumbest Dec
Remember, they fired their head coach when they were 30-12 and gave Doc Rivers a 5 year contract that even Doc Rivers didn’t think was a good idea haha.
I cant remembee the last time i said this but:
Fade me and doc rivers
Myles Turner
Insert Cartman laughing gif here… 🤣
truly deserved for giannis kalshitekumpo
Giannis I promise you know no one will be mad if you request a trade.
We all on Kalshi now.
how much do u think giannis makes off this?
Giannis is still playing though
Shocked
It’s over for the Bucks. The league has moved on. Talk to me when Giannis can shoot.
Got our chip - I don’t give a fuck if Giannis can’t dribble…
Finally. Burn it down
Bye bye doc
Good lord just end my pain already and fade us.
Doc’s even washed in the RS
It’s so over lmao
Giannis confirmed for WrestleMania?!
Wait..
Do we know if Danhausen cursed the Bucks this year?!
If so, you know what you have to do to lift the curse…
Wow even from the play-in? At least they got a championship I guess
KNOCK ‘EM DOWN, FADE ‘EM
Bucks fans now get to play breakup with Giannis again. Sorry y’all
Why they didn’t just wait till the end of Adrian Griffin’s first season to fire him just for Doc still surprises me.
So, is this season a failure for Bucks?
Nah, it was awesome /s
Do Bucks fans still want Giannis on the team, or to just get the rebuild started?
#FADED
Doc Rivers likely fired and more giannis trade rumors. How is milwaukees draft situation? Are they gonna have to full rebuild?
Impossible. I was told they were contenders keeping Giannis.
Pour up (drank) Head shot (drank) Sit down (drank) Stand up (drank) Pass out (drank) Wake up (drank) Fade em (drank) Fade em (drank)
