Yeah. Plus it doesn’t help that Luka, as great as he is as an individual scorer, is not that efficient. And more importantly, he isn’t using his gravity to elevate his teammates. These things shows up in the advanced statsheets.

If you notice, Jokic is ahead of Luka in the MVP race, even though the nuggets is currently behind lakers in the standings. That is because advanced stats shows Jokic is impacting the game more than just scoring. He puts his teammates on good positions to score. Jokic’s on/off numbers and net rating are crazy good. Yeah, he a bad defender, but his offensive rating (not JUST scoring) is more than making up for it. The entire nuggets team scores a lot more when Jokic is on the floor (meanwhile Luka scores a lot but Lakers as a team isn’t).

The only reason jokic isn’t top 2 right now is because the nuggets were losing a lot lately. SGA and Wemby have the advanced stats AND their teams are winning a lot.
