The 2022-23 Mavericks benched Luka in the 2nd half of a loss against the Bulls. He was healthy, but only played 12 minutes in a 3 point loss. The loss kept them out of the play in and allowed them to keep their pick from going to the Knicks.

We got two teams in the bottom 5 likely making up or at least exaggerating injuries to not play guys, and they both got better rosters than like half the league when healthy

Raptors did last year, and it wasn’t even succesful since our bench/905 squad went 13-13. We also fell from 7 to 9th in the draft, probably as karma for blatantly trying to lose, and failing at doing it. 

Ok but if you look at it a different way they gave the fans at the game 3 quarters of better basketball than they would’ve gotten from some other tanking teams. The ceiling at that point became ‘play-in team.’ maybe if we had traded for JJJ asap, but I don’t think that was on the table yet (even assuming he wouldn’t have had to be shut down).
