[Highlight] Down 1 with 0.4 sec left, Nesmith’s inbound pass goes into the hoop
Weirdest end to a game
this is why adam silver is doing all this lottery shit
Hopefully people stop crying about how there’s nothing wrong with tanking lol
Are you claiming that Jay Huff missed both his free throws to help the pacers tank?
The same Jay Huff who is on the cutting block for the roster next year depending on who we draft?
You can tell how dumb some people on here are when they think a fringe nba player is helping the team find someone to take his roster spot lol. Bad team loses to a decent team at the last second: ULTIMATE UNETHICAL TANK JOB. Players like Jay Huff don’t give a shit about tanking for a draft pick
Gotta do it for the team bro. That’s what you call a team player! /s
I’ve never seen such tomfoolery in (technically) less than a second, what the actual fuck was every play there.
I’m praying that someone posts the whole sequence! I know the Jay Huff missing both for the tank will do numbers on this sub
He was so upset after that too…. Some of the clippers came over to console him. He was NOT trying to miss.
Yeah, he probably knows that whoever the Pacers pick will cost him his role on the team. He’ll never think about tanking for the team there.
They already traded for Zubac
Academy awards level of acting right there. Probably received a nice bonus check.
Same
For someone to get a finger on the ball while its going in probably
Could that be goal tending?
No, there’s no goaltending on an inbounds pass
BUILD. A MOTHERFUCKING. WALL.
Lose. But lose with grace and hope that ping pong balls go your way in June
Weirdest game ever
Most ethical tanking*
The type of tanking that says I could beat you if I want to
pacers devil magic made an appearance
What the fuck man. Hahahahhahah
In any future year that first rounder is GONE lmao.
He’s not giving it to us anyway man.
I can’t wait for the Pacers to pick 5th overall in June
Our pick would go to the clippers if it’s #5
God I wish Utah was dealing with that circumstance instead of y’all
i think the plan was to throw it off the backboard? IIRC, Charles Barkley was involved in an end of game play like this.
Nembhard
Why are the fans going crazy? Do they not know the rules? Lol
Was at the game. Couldn’t believe how long the cheering lasted after it was clearly an invalid make.
Lol did they think this was allowed or something. If it was, Warriors would just get Steph on every inbound and try this. I know Luka would love that as well. Easy 3 points
Hey, hold on. That would stop intentional fouling. Timeouts wouldn’t allow a shot still.
We might be onto something here. Call Silver! STAT!
If you can graze a finger on it, it counts
So Nembhard was wanting Batum to touch the ball and have it still go in? Because the other explanation is that Indiana should’ve done an offensive goaltending violation in order to score.
The Pacers were very unlikely to win from this position but the strategy of passing at that angle on the inbounds was so flawed.
There’s no offensive interference or defensive goal tending on inbound passes until it touches another player since it’s impossible for it to count as a score, it’s why Tyson Chandler’s and especially DeAndre Ayton’s alley oop dunk game winners were legal.
Looking back on it, I should’ve thought of that because yeah you can’t score directly off of an inbounds therefore offensive goaltending can’t apply to what is a pass.
If Huff got a finger on it before it hits the backboard, pacers win. It’s that simple
They know their team just secured the loss win
Either the fans thought someone got a finger on it so it counts.
More likely explanation is that most fans don’t know the rules. I have no idea what ticket prices are like in Indiana but whenever I go to games in the “expensive cities” most of the fans with good seats don’t understand the sport and are there for the social media pictures, beers, or just vibing rather than a love for the game. This has been true for Miami, LA (lakers), and NYK games I’ve attended.
Raptors games used to have knowledgable fans but that has gone downhill since 2019 too.
This is the case for the fans that are in few of the camera at least. The one’s in the nosebleeds might still be knowledgable, idk.
Last time I got my company’s hornets tickets, a guy a row behind us kept yelling to pass to lamelo. Melo had been on the bench for the last two minutes.
Yeah most fans don’t know the rules
To be fair the NBA has some shit rules, not this one but I don’t blame fans for not knowing all of them
Pacers fans are funny but dumb
I mean this is pretty obscure.
I really don’t think it is. The ball not being in play until a player touches it is fundamental.
That’s not Nesmith.
The last .03 seconds of that game was so drunk peak March Madness was disturbed.
Maybe someone can fix the title, meant to say Nembhard lol
or he could change his name
“Stay on Nesmith, don’t let him take the shot to win”
All five players look at the coach, then look at the Pacers who have five Nesmiths on the floor
Just has to marry Nesmith. First ever openly gay married couple starting back court in NBA history
nets wouldve passed that shit towards midcourt lol
All they had to do was tap it right before it went in
Clearly a sign that were throwing the game tho
Yea.. the missed FT’s are the icing on the cake.
This is probably the craziest thing I’ve seen this season what a bipolar game
People love telling pacers fans that exact motivations and intentions of our team and can’t even get the names of our best players right. Literally just has to watch the clip to get it right. Insert Hibbertcoin here
His eyeliner game goes hard.
My bad thought this was nba circle jerk
LOL if the rule ever changes and that shot counts, you know Steph’s shooting that shit every time.
This is 5d chess tanking
Is nembhard the most beautiful NBA player to ever exist? My god
Count it you cowards!
You deserve to win the game if you do that shit idc
Bro said fuck it
Haters will say its fake
Oh wow
Funny when one team does everything it can to loose, and still almost wins…
Talk about throwing a game the last minute:)
Indiana be tanking, ain’t no way buddy should miss two free throws like that.
NESMITH
WHO
Being pedantic, but shouldn’t that be Clippers ball now? An inbound pass turnover with no time taken off the clock?
Edit: I just looked at the play-by-play and saw it was. What the fuck happened in that last 0.4 seconds?
That’s the Chris Mullin special!!!
Nesmith looks a lot like nembhard
That not Neismith
“what the kappa” - Nembhard
If this happened but a player barely touched the ball after it hit the backboard but before it went in, would that count or would that be goaltending?
It would count
The longest 0.4 seconds I’ve ever seen
I know the rule states this is not a legal shot, but why do you think that rule exists? It would be very fun if it was legal. BTW pls ignore my flair, I am not a fan of Steph Curry, I just dont know how to change flairs.
generational tanking.
They should allow inbound passes like this to count
wait what
That’s Nembhard not Nesmith
Lmao even
Really shows how intelligent Pacers fans are
