Missed the part where the Jay Huff foul was one of the most egregious flops ever, and somehow the ref bought it while staring directly at the play.

On the second point, so long as the foul comes after the ball is released and before it’s caught then yes, you can have a live ball foul with no time off the clock. Exact same thing with the ‘foul’ on Huff. He was ‘fouled’ before the ball was touched and after it was released.
