Happens all the time, a player is underrated (or perceived as such) so all the talk about them is how they’re underrated. Then they start being appropriately rated, as Caruso now is, and you can talk about their actual game a bit more. And all the issues people have with it…

In LA he had a cult-like fanbase due to his “you can’t stop him, you can only hope to contain him” moments. He wasn’t necessarily great but he had obvious athleticism and was a lot younger so he had the potential to evolve into a starter-level 3&D player. He was also on an extremely cheap contract considering his contribution.
Caruso was starter level as of 2020. I think he started game 6 of the finals. He improved even more in Chicago

Exactly, outside of the handchecking (fouling) he’s still a great defender, especially his ability to navigate screens. OKC can just send him to his man and there’s basically no way to get him off you.

Seattle will pay close to 10B to get a team. Bennet bought the Sonics for around 300M. The team is worth 100x as much today as it was in 2006.
Still maintain they dont move to Oklahoma if Seattle builds them a free arena… which they were not going to do. As much as the cost of an arena seems small in relation to the value of the team, the taxpayers dont benefit from a 10b basketball team any more than they did 20 years ago.
Vancouver was a failed experiment. Seattle wasn’t lacking for support. KD would’ve filled the arena. Nothing against the people in OKC, but they shouldn’t have this team.
