Nicknames should be like names anyone can use them

This is a Kimi Raikkonen chat

Nicknames functionally work one of two ways for the most part:

You are “given” or “earn” a nickname. This is common for athletes. 

You pick a nickname you identify with. This is common on the internet.

If your nickname is the former, congrats, you have zero input on what you get called, but it’s legend forever most likely. 

If your nickname is the latter, particularly with how long we’ve been in “recorded human history” now, and how established certain communities are, you better be damn sure you’re picking one that’s unique or not one goddamn person is going to care that someone else uses the same one.

I say this as someone who went through the hassle of the latter. 

TL;DR - You’re not THE “Iceman” Caleb Williams, and nobody calls you that, fuck off.
