We have 3 things happening on this play that each individually should have resulted in this call being overturned, but somehow didn’t:

Sengun in CLEARLY still moving

Naz BARELY even makes contact with Sengun to the extent that even if Sengun was in position this should not have been called

Sengun BLATANTLY flopped. Is barely touched in the mid section only, but throws his head and entire body backwards to the ground.

Honestly looked like he was talking to Ant, not Foster, anyway. Wonder what he thought he heard

What a disgrace to the sport. He needs to be investigated, like 25 years ago.

Sengun gets away with so much for doing literally nothing to this point in his career it’s insane.

I kept watching the replay, on here and with the ESPN feed, trying to figure out what triggered the ejection.

Did Anthony Edwards say something that Foster thought came from Reid? As soon as Reid was tossed, he pointed to Ant and Ant put his hands up, turned and immediately walked back toward the bench.

Ant looked guilty AF, and it didn’t look like Naz did anything. Trigger-happy Foster got the wrong guy!

Foster burned through that foul assessment like it was already pre-written then immediately tosses Reid out of the game.

I don’t understand why the league doesn’t do something about this guy, it’s blatantly obvious he has an agenda. At least with Angel Hernandez I could laugh, this guy is just a terrorist with a whistle.

Genuinely, what would make this legal guarding position? I feel like I’ve seen calls go against the Wolves because a foot pivots, and in this case Sengun never seems to plant himself at all. Like, I don’t want to be a homer, but I sincerely don’t understand when movement is allowed and when it’s not for blocks vs charges.

The product has been unwatchable for years, Scott Foster continues to make it even worse.

Refs need to stop trying to overturn their own calls. It should be sent to a somone not on the court to be looked at. Baseball doesn’t do a lot right, but this they do.

It may very well be an offensive foul, but I feel like Sengun is already falling back even before Naz fully crashed into him.

Like he’s just timing when to fall instead of actually absorbing the contact. The flagrant is even more confusing, like it’s super sudden and the other refs doesn’t even react.

I would say no call because Sengun goes down too easily but idk why everyone keeps saying Sengun was moving, that literally doesn’t matter. He’s in a legal guarding position, stays in front of Naz Reid as he eurosteps, and beats him to the spot.

“A dribbler shall not (1) charge into an opponent who has established a legal guarding position, or (2) attempt to dribble between two opponents, or (3) attempt to dribble between an opponent and a boundary, where sufficient space is not available for illegal contact to be avoided. Not to be a downer but last time I read the rules there isn’t discussion of “moving ” in terms of defense. Its “establishing position.” Tbh ive always thought its silly you need to be perfectly still well before the offensive player needs to stop moving.

Didn’t even touch him. Probly would’ve been a charge if Sengun stayed straight up and took the contact but he just launches himself backwards before the contact. Bad call. Red card for Sengun for flopping

When a game gets too exciting fans might care about the teams and players. Scott Foster takes that personally. A Scott Foster officiated game is about Scott Foster, eveything else is secondary.

I’m actually halfway with Scott Foster on this one. He does get to legal guarding position. There is nothing in the rulebook that says a defender has to be stopped in order to take a charge. As far as the contact, Sengun flops and there should be no call, good basket. I would have overturned it.

Turned the game off immediately after this. Foster turned what was a battle into a sham. NBAs next move needs to retire these type of personal grievance calls that change games. Short of a player hitting you, you shouldn’t be able to eject a guy for cursing or complaining.

Are you joking? To review this and still call it an offensive foul is completely unacceptable. I can deal with missed calls. I will get irritated but I know it’s hard to get everything right. But to refuse to acknowledge the mistake with slow motion replay available is unacceptable. That is insane behavior.

I thought it should be a block, but IMO, it’s not so obvious that I can’t understand at all why it was upheld. Tossing Naz on top of that was truly egregious.

If the NBA has a commissioner that gave a single fuck about the on-court product, Foster and several other unqualified refs would be gone. The owners love Silver cuz they are making more money, but fans that just want to watch good hoops are getting the shaft.
