[Highlight] The Atlanta Hawks get the stop on the final possession of overtime to defeat the Detroit Pistons, 130-129. Atlanta has now won 14 of their last 15 games.
Gave up a 21 point lead. Then a 5 point lead with 44 seconds remaining.
That game took years off my life lol. Pistons just do not go away.
That was my thought watching them. You think you’ve got some space and you’re wrong. Great team.
Javonte Green is such an underrated part of their success this year outside of Pistons fans. Hell, I’m pretty sure most of us were even underrating him ourselves until like around 20 or so games in and his impact was just kind of undeniable at that point.
Everyone knows that Ausar and Ron are awesome at jumping passing lanes and sneaking up on guys defensively, but JG has been a huge part of that as well. He’s just kinda like a roaming linebacker sometimes. He’s really been an awesome pickup for them.
Yeah if we don’t win the east (what!) I’m cool with the Pistons. I like Cade, Jalen is a beast, and I’d be happy for the homie Red Velvet
CJ McCollum did not go away lol. GGs
Duren is such a beast. Good lord.
Another Hornet draft pick…SMH
Imagine Duren on that Hornets squad 😭 (also I didn’t know he was drafted by them)
As a Hornets fan he wouldn’t fit our team the way he does Detroit, plus we probably wouldn’t have Kon or Miller if we kept him. So I’m actually ok with it…sort of. The first round pick we got in exchange for Duren we turned into…wait for it…Nick Smith Jr.
Traded on draft night, so I’m pretty sure Troy Weaver actually just told Charlotte who to pick for him.
I missed the thrill of this type of ball for our hawks, but next time would rather it stay a close game instead of an almost choke or just keep an lead.
Welcome to the majority of Pistons games over the last two seasons. For some reason, so many of their games end up being super close at the end.
Atmosphere of a playoff game
Hahahahaha…we probably shouldn’t have won that
But we did. Don’t care how much we win by as long as it’s a win.
Couldn’t stop Duren all night and he misses that
Regression to the mean baby
NAW had multiple shots that would have likely pushed the game out of reach and missed badly despite shooting lights out lately from 3.
It was a struggle for both teams to close this game out. Ultimately ended in a fitting way of neither making the play to win but someone failing to make the play.
We were up by like 21.. they came out of the gates in the second half 16-0 run. We can’t let that happen, shouldn’t have been that close.
id prefer the hawks blow them out, i forgot what its like to win close games 😂
I hate fake ass fans like this. Duren set like 25 illegal screens but we “shouldn’t have won” despite playing 5 on 8.
100% 😂😂
Jalen Duren missing a shot vs the Hawks is rarer than a Dyson Daniels 3
JJ and CJ were just so clutch but man the pistons don’t give up
Tobias Harris already had 22, JB should have known that was his max
Ironically the only game winner I ever saw him hit with us was against the Lakers years ago.
He did hit the tying shot
It sucks that his time in Philly went so poorly, cuz he clearly had good ball left in him when he got to Detroit and was a really good player pretty much everywhere else he played too. Shows what being miscast while simultaneously overpaid can do to your perception lol
He had 0 points in an elimination game which was his last game for us. That pretty much sums up his time there, a fat donut amounting to nothing.
He had some disappearing acts in Philly and made way too much money but he wasn’t a negative player in Philly. His 0 point playoff elimination game did him no favors for his legacy. Everyone needs a scapegoat.
Not too mad cause the Pistons really can afford to lose some games, but as a huge Duren fan I’m feeling it. The Hawks are apparently fun as hell to watch now, though, and they shot the hell out of it in the first. Loved CJ and Tobi getting things done at the end. Two vets that get too much mid-hate. Great game. Curious how both my guys and the Hawks end up at the end of the year
He’s so good dude. I’m jealous. He gives me Shawn Kemp vibes.
I always thought kg without a shot but kemp is dead on. And kemp was a favorite of mine growing up.
Kemp is what Casey said when he was a rookie.
Detroit Basketball! All respect to you guys. I don’t honestly think we can beat you guys with Motor Cade. Duren really has taken his game to the next level. Best American big in the NBA
Duren shoved Landale from behind to get that rebound.
He did that all game
Didn’t set a single legal screen. Refs fouled OO out but let him go bezerk all game. Not even trying to be unbiased.
Every fuckin Duren screen is illegal. It’s Taj Gibson on the Knicks all over again.
He gets to play a different game
Nope, landale puts both his hands on Duren fighting for positioning
It’s called a box out. Duren shoved him away with force.
Basketball is a physical sport. Landale lost his balance boxing out and Duren got the board it’s not a foul
at that price point, he CAN hit
Ball don’t lie
Jock boxed out while moving duren back away from the basket, but according to you, somehow lost his balance ended up under the basket. Make it make sense 😂
Duren played dirty, the basketball gods punished him for it. End of story.
He lost his balance because hes weaker than Duren and he got his ass moved, once again basketball is a physical sport.
CJ McCollum haunts my nightmares
i’ve never seen duncan jump that high man
Both times with the game on the line JB Bickerstaff draws up a Tobias Harris iso
this is utterly ridiculous.
Anyone ever figure out where Kongs mystery foul came from?
Yo duren strong as shit
Definitely one of the strongest in the league, especially not being a 7 footer. Only 23 years old too lol.
Imagine when he’s 28.
duren is built like the admiral
Trae young getting traded is gonna save quin snyders job
He doesn’t get enough credit for how many versions of this team we’ve gone through in this season alone and still manages to snag 5th.
How is that not an offensive foul on Harris
Lol how …
winning 14 out of 15?? this isn’t the “salt of the earth” perfectly average basketball I was promised!
Friendly reminder Knicks fans. The Knicks drafted Duren then traded him for pennies.
Wasn’t it the Hornets?
Tobias Harris for the last shot? Wtf…
He made the shot that sent the game to OT
who cares? that’s who Detroit is putting his hope for the future? come on now.
What the fuck are you talking about hope for the future? Cade is out and this game is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
I’m saying he made a clutch shot 5 minutes earlier, giving him another look isn’t the craziest thing
It absolutely makes sense. Its either him or Jenkins and going with the guy who isnt nearly as likely to get blocked is very reasonable. Havent watched a ton of Detroit so correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think anyone else can make their own shot in the clutch without Cade. He was also really good this game.
No you’re on the mark there, could’ve tried to draw something up to get duncan or Daniss open off a screen, but as far as self-creating with Cade out, Tobias is the man for the job. He gets a lot of hate but he’s been a very steady vet presence
“putting his hope for the future” is so melodramatic man cmon
A Tobias Harris post up is their best shot attempt at winning the game? 😂…
That’s what got them to OT
the problem is Detroit depending of Tobias in clutch time. really?
If Tobias Harris is taking your game winning shots then we all know how this ends for the Pistons in the playoffs lol
I suspect the playoffs might have more Cade Cunningham involvement
I hope hes back by then. Want to see the Pistons be able to end their season properly
He’s already resuming solo activities.
I’ve been resuming solo activities all night after this hawks win
Great to hear!!
He made the shot that sent the game to OT and had 22 points on 55% shooting
