The Memphis Grizzlies today provided the following medical updates for guard Ja Morant, forward Brandon Clarke and center Zach Edey:

*Morant* continues to progress in his rehabilitation of a UCL sprain in his left elbow. Following a recent consultation to advise on lingering discomfort, it was recommended that Morant receive a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection to further optimize ligament healing. Morant will begin offloading the elbow following the injection and will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season, but he is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2026-27 season

*Clarke* continues to progress in his rehabilitation of a right calf strain, but recent imaging indicated that additional healing is required prior to clearance for high-intensity court work. Clarke will continue his rehabilitation program and will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season, but he is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2026-27 season.

*Edey* today underwent a procedure to address lingering discomfort in his left elbow. He is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2026-27 season.

We shut down the season before the trade deadline when we traded Jaren basically, although if the players are somehow getting more hurt while not grinding through, then it’s probably time to throw these boys in bubble wrap

That marks 2 ankle surgeries and 1 elbow for Zach since he first got injured December 6th 2025.

Thankfully, the Grizzlies have had franchise superstar, Ty Jerome, to carry the load in these dark times

I was playing pickup with some guys who were talking about March Madness and one guy asked if Edey ever made it to the NBA. It sucks that he’s going through all this when he’s shown that he can be very impactful when he’s on the court.

I truly believe the dude has it, and could truly be dominant, unfortunately roster/injury struggles made the lineup so tumultuous that it was hard to find a groove, and when he did it was his own freak injury to set him back.

I really hope he goes the JJJ route and wipes the injury prone tag after these first couple years and becomes sort of an iron man because he is so important to us, we have 0 credible bigs lol

Totally agree. Im not usually a huge fan of the eye test but he just looked absolutely dominant to start the season.

So bloody unlucky to get these foot and elbow injuries, probably the most important parts of the body for a big man like him.

Praying the tank works out for you guys and you come back with a healthy Edey next year. How amazing would a Boozer and Edey front court be…

Funnily enough we’ve had worse injury plagued seasons when trying to be competitive so this could be looked at as normal.

Also Edey being an iron man all 4 years at Purdue then having a degenerative ankle after his 3rd game of summer league is on cue.

I really hope Edey gets better and can stay consistently healthy. He was always the best player on the floor at Purdue, and after his high +/- differentials earlier this season, I knew he could be a cornerstone of any franchise going forward. But as history shows, it’s tough for the tall men to stay healthy.

Medicine has gotten much better, though. Praying that they can take care of my guy.
