A ton of older stats on the website always were from a single source, either post game box score scans, newspaper articles or Harvey Pollack’s media guides. This is hardly any different and the linked blogpost mentions that

At least thats what I’ve always though since they include scans of them for each game and most of the games had very little media coverage at the time so its unlikely any more data is even available unless something noteworthy happened.
