NBA players with the most career losses (LeBron isn’t even close to the top)
LeBron has played more games than anyone in NBA history…and still isn’t even close to the biggest losers.
Here is the list of players with the most regular-season losses:
| Rank | Player | Games | Loss % | Losses |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Vince Carter | 1541 | 49.1% | 756 |
| 2 | Jamal Crawford | 1327 | 54.1% | 718 |
| 3 | Johnny Newman | 1159 | 57.3% | 664 |
| 4 | Kevin Willis | 1424 | 46.6% | 664 |
| 5 | Thaddeus Young | 1173 | 55.6% | 652 |
| 6 | Elvin Hayes | 1303 | 49.8% | 649 |
| 7 | Johnny Green | 1056 | 60.6% | 640 |
| 8 | Andre Miller | 1305 | 48.9% | 638 |
| 9 | Kevin Garnett | 1461 | 43.6% | 637 |
| 10 | Juwan Howard | 1208 | 52.5% | 634 |
Most of these players weren’t bad, they just had long careers on mediocre teams.
LeBron’s all-time regular-season record is 1041-572, and his loss percentage is only 35.5%, which is insane for that kind of longevity. He has played more games than anyone ever, and still has ~180 fewer losses than Vince Carter.
Fun Fact: DeMar DeRozan (12th, 630 losses) is only four losses away from cracking into the top 10. The Sacramento Kings have 10 games left on their schedule, including an upcoming five-game road trip, so he might move up all the way to the 8th spot.
