Feel bad for those players. Value went down and contention went out the window. Luka on this team instead of Flagg is in the playoffs and when Kyrie is healthy again contenders (he may have came back if they were in the hunt). 0 to do with Flagg, he’s 19. Team was also built for Luka so no real second PG plan

Nico affected Luka and the fans a ton obviously but also screwed Naji, PJ, Gafford, Lively, Kyrie, Klay… even Kidd

I think there is little question its the Lakers. Even if it were a question of Luka on the Mavs or the Lakers, the Lakers always have easier access to resources and now have a strong financial backer (wealthy owner and oil money)

I actually don’t think that’s even close to true. Granted, I think it’s like maybe ⁴⁄₅ to ²⁄₃. Neither is winning a ring, but the Mavs with Luka probably make the 2nd round more often, maybe another WCF, the rest of the decade.

The non-Luka parts of that Lakers roster is kinda…..idk, it’s fine, but it’s not special in any real way.

The worst part about this is how much it’s just killed my interest in basketball as a whole. Thats truly the evil that Nico Harrison has brought upon our city.

I can’t watch OKC without thinking about how tough that series was in 2023 en route to the finals.

I can’t watch the spurs without thinking about how Luka used to beat them every season opener.

I can’t watch the nuggets without thinking about how we fumbled our own Eastern Euro.

It all just sucks and yeah Flagg is a great player. But when you go through the exhaustive journey of watching your team ascend the mountain, it’s demoralizing to watch them tumble down to the base all on their own accord
