[Highlight] Jalen Duren locks up Luka Doncic, who has to take a very difficult turnaround 3-point attempt to tie the game, and he airballs it - Pistons win.
With a replay
3-0 since the Cade injury! Heal up my king, but they’re holding the fort until you return
Ngl it’s impressive
No Beef Stew either, all dawgs on the Pistons.
I just think it shows how big Jankinss is, and how important is for Cade to become more efficient offensive player.
You don’t know what you’re talking about, Jenkins has been ass since the deadline and Cade has consistently outperformed everyone else on this team. Cade has literally been by far our second best 3 point shooter this year
Daniss has stank since he signed his full NBA contract. Only last couple games he’s done any good
Can you please look up Jenkins game before this one and think about what you just said?
Give Cade an SGA whistle and the efficiency conversation goes out the window.
This is it. Cade has not been top form. Too much hero ball
Hero ball? Cade has the most assists in the entire NBA this season. Of all players saying Cade is too much hero ball is wild stuff.
8-2 without him this season
Cade overrated
Shit take
Team looks better when the PG hits 3s watch the games
Are you stupid
A collapsed lung is a crazy sounding injury, can’t remember it happening to anyone else other than CJ. Have there been any details regarding the severity?
Sounds worse than it is most of the time
I don’t think they’ve specified much yet, but odds are it’s okay, hopefully.
Average time to return for NBA players that have had a collapsed lung is 26 days and Shams said Cade’s is very minor. It’s really not a big deal even though the name of the injury sounds bad.
I’m a respiratory therapist.
His pneumothorax is very minor, most resolve on their own and arent very serious.
The issue is, breathing is difficult while recovering, so playing a rigorous game like basketball is just completely out of the question
…now a major pneumo, that is a much more serious issue that requires chest tubes and is not a fun time at all
I see. I knew someone growing up whose lung collapsed 4 or 5 times and forced him to quit sports for years. That was probably an outlier occurrence and Cade has far better doctors looking after him, hope he gets better by the playoffs.
That’s a relief to hear.
Is this one less severe than TJ Watt’s dry needling injury?
I never knew that happened.
Funny thing is, “dry needling” or as its actually called in the medical field, needle decompression, is used to alleviate a pneumothorax by basically inserting an open needle(as opposed to a closed one) which allows all the air leaking into the chest cavity out of the body. Its basically what you do until you can give a chest tube tube. Funny thing is though, if someone doesnt know what theyre, they accidentally stick the needle in too far and penetrate the lung, which then worsens the pneumo, which is what happened to watt
I dont know the exact severity of watts injury, nor the exact severity of cades, so I cant exactly say if cades is worse
They claim they performed a surgery to repair watts pneumo…but im extremely skeptical. Surgery is like…only for severe cases. If he only got his pneumo from someone going to deep with a needle and accidental poking his lung, its incredibly unlikely that would require surgery, it SHOULD be able to resolve on its own, or worst case require a chest tube.
I’m also skeptical that if it was so severe it required surgery, that he’d only miss 3 games from it like he did
I had a collapsed lung that required a chest tube. Confirmed not fun.
Terrence Jones with Houston and Gerald Wallace with the Bobcats. Not a very long list at all.
I remember the Gerald Wallace one, it was caused by a hard foul by Andrew Bynum. Also broke one of his ribs on the play I think.
TJ Watt had one a year or two ago and came back in like 3 weeks.
I remember spacing being something Detroit was concerned about and you lost shooters from last year but ya’ll look capable
Wait til tomorrow when it’s revealed Duren threatened to pour Faygo on Luka’s divorce papers
Lmaoooo 🤣
Daniss gave them 30 so watch for the big back from Slovenia to file a hate crime complaint against us
LMFAO
🤣 hilarious 🤣
Bad boy Luka says mean words
Ended their streak 😏
how could the Lakers have lost to Detroit when LA has the MVP and the most glorious win streak in human history? are they stupid?!
Your teams shit just fouls on every play, Celtics will smoke you
We are 3-1 against the Celtics this season…
Celtics were 4-0 against us last regular season and look wht happened
Yeah Knicks fans talk a lot about that
Oof rooting for the celts as a lakers fan…. how dirty
Must be a bandwagon fan.
Lakers fans are all bandwagon fans
“My dad can beat up your dad” type shit
Found Luka’s burner
Tell it to a ref
Even as a Celtics fan I do not agree with this.
Luka should have passed it to AR.
Not disagreeing, but isn’t this the same type pf situation when Luka (famously) passed to Lebron in the dying seconds and was criticized for it?
That coz he had an open look, he hesitated and then passed to LeBron
he didnt have an open look here
Best passer in the league with the most tunnel vision
he wanted to get me banned from the sub by tying the game though
Praying you get that MVP trophy bro you’ve been putting in mad work 🙏🙏
Does r/nbacirclejerk do end of season awards, I might be the frontrunner for hater of the year
Top 1% commenter is crazy bro you might win it 😭
Considering how massive this sub yeah, yeah it’s quite the accomplishment
Not to mention I’m also the guy who did the “Alex Caruso is an anagram of Sexual Orca” shitpost about a week ago XD
It’s bizarre you don’t feel embarrassed and are proud of wasting so much time
You gotta have negative shame to admit on a thread with 6k upvotes that you fap to an orca girl vtuber
Do you know how hard it is to get a circlejerk post specifically about YOU?
I feel bad for Kleber, doesnt play all game and is supposed to be ready for a clutch situation.
Anyway another great play drawn by JJ, Lebrons pass was ass so Luka didnt get a clean look.
Gotta give credit to JJ, these plays are amazing to watch.
Lebron has been terrible as an inbounder
JJ drew that up for how JJ would make the shot but then realized Luka don’t want to take the end of game pressure shot
Honestly I’m surprised he didn’t make this
Good defense by Duren
I have more faith in him hitting bullshit like that over a catch and shoot 3
u/stat-defender Where you at? Tell these people how good of an ISO defender Jalen Duren is.
Duren been doing this all season long!
Fewest Points Per Possession Given Up Guarding ISOs In The 2025-26 NBA Regular Season (Min. 50 Total ISO Possessions Guarded) :
Keeping the company of noted 40 yr old defensive specialists Kevin Durant and James Harden
What a list.
Sam hauser 💪
Last two possessions weren’t good. Credit to the Pistons defense but somebody has to get open there. This team has the potential to do shit in the playoffs compared to last year’s Cavs wherein everybody and their mom knew the Cavs were frauds
Yeah I was shocked. Felt really rushed. AR looked rushed too but it actually went in
The intent was a 2 for 1 that’s why they went fast. And it was a paint shot, AR’s good on that Pistons also made a quick score but ultimately Lakers had the last shot.
Yeah I knew why, but nothing set up. Luka wasn’t having a good shooting night and to give him the final two shots isn’t something I’d have chosen
Honestly yeah surprised they went to Luka. But the play was the left wing three which he’s made tons of clutch shots over his career so i kinda get it
I wouldve gone with reaves tho
they had the play but harris tipped the ball. luke was wide open
AR was open, Luka should have passed but I think he was set on taking the shot.
Luka would’ve been open out of the play if LeBron doesn’t fuck up the pass.
We not gonna talk about that inbounds pass? Lmao
Shhhhh it still got to the intended target. It’s not how you drive, it’s how you arrive that matters.
what about it?
it was a good pass
Braille must be real advanced these days
bruh, ruthless blind burn. jesus christ lol
If the play was to bounce it off Klebers head, perfect
Play got blown up, he did what he could I guess
It didn’t get blown up, LeBron threw a bad pass. Great play Luka was open
Lol you can’t even tell if it hits the persons hand that’s jumping in front of him from this angle. Which Tobias does touch it.
Does he my bad if he does but yeah you can’t tell
Pass was tipped but it still would’ve gotten to an open Luka if kleber didn’t touch it
The D stands for discipline
I’m the biggest bronsexual but I’ll admit he should not be inbounding the ball in the clutch.
What happened on the pass? I can’t even tell but looked awful
Got tipped
Duren CLAMPSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Beautiful.
Luka was wide open, Bron misplaced the pass
Pass was perfect, the problem was Kleber reached up and altered the pass. He doesn’t touch it Luka has a clean shot with a possibility for a long rebound and prayer if he misses.
perfect? it’s hitting Kleber’s hand on the way down, 5 feet away from Luka. If Kleber didn’t touch it it would bounce, awkwardly high, before reaching Luka. by the time Luka would get control of it Duren would have clamped him up in an even worse position than where Luka gets control of the ball in this play due to the deflection
That pass was atrocious
Dawg Pound!
Any team with 4 white guys on the floor for the final possession deserves to lose.
MVP! MVP!
This shows that Luka’s a horrible player!/s
Why was lebron inbounding and why was kleber in the game? I know he could shoot 3s but wasnt it better if they play lbj, luka, AR and kennard? I mean lbj is a great passer but any team would rather see lbj taking the inbound pass than him taking a shot.
Also, that lebron pass is ass. Any player would react the same as Kleber if they saw that pass coming to them. It also look short even if kleber didnt touch it.
Kleber was there because Ayton and Hayes don’t provide anything for a 3. Maybe the Lakers didn’t need any center out there, but it seems they wanted a screen-setter.
Lakers had plenty of shooting on the court even with LeBron inbounding. (There was also plenty of time for an inbound to be returned to LeBron.) In theory, LeBron is the exact player you’d want inbounding it: high IQ player with elite passing, and veteran experience. Obviously it didn’t pan out, but the theory makes sense.
I wont argue that lbj would be a great inbounder due to his passing prowess and high IQ. However, if you are the other team, it works at your advantage that lebron is passing and not shooting. Besides, lebron was inbounding on the loaded side of the court and luka was running away from that side.there is no way that ball would be coming back to that side. Luka was only open for a moment because duren messed up the switch.
Kleber provided the risk of a 3 and a good body to set a screen for Luka. That was the play. LeBron miss passed. It’s a good play.
I do understand this. However,Kleber is a bit slow on his feet thus it is easier to switch compared to lebron, ar or kennard. Also, he aint a threat for a catch and shoot. He would definitely be fouled by the pistons to avoid the 3.dont get me wrong. It is a good play and lebron is at fault. What im just saying is the same play for kleber can be done with lebron as the screener and it would create a lot of better opportunities.
Long ass 9 seconds
JD got dapped up by Tom Gores the owner on the sideline right at the end of the clip
NOT MY MVP!! THIS IS GLORIOUS!! YESSSSSSS!!
HOOP, LOOK OUT, IT’S A MISSLE!!!!
EVERYONE GET IN HERE!
Bad pass by Lebron. If Luka passed it to AR, I wonder if he could have gotten off a better shot there
Did Tobias tip that pass or did LeBron just make a bad pass? Looks like it might have bounced to Luka is Maxi did try to grab it.
Snap back to reality, ope there goes gravity
LeBron should receive the inbounds passes imo. Literally like a receiver out there. Unfortunately Smart was out so we couldn’t do the Smart -> Bron -> shooter set
With that much time left there’s nothing wrong with having LeBron do the inbound pass. Plenty of time to get it back to him. The Pistons often have Cade inbound.
Oh my issue is catching it in traffic or something high. Definitely enough time, as you said.
Tip to Luka/His coach. If there’s time on the clock. Run a play or do something else. If you dribble and run out the clock… You are gonna get suffocated.
This used to happen on the Mavs a lot too. Everybody and their momma knew that Luka was gonna get the ball and it was gonna be a tough three. Even in games where they needed 2 points to tie or win. It would still be a tough ass three.
SGA would’ve pass it to a wide open teammate in this situation.
I was told Lakers are a scary team they couldn’t even beat Detroit without Cade lmao
world is healing, luka is a bum
2ND
Literally never heard of this jenkin dude until tonight, these role players love getting their career nights against the Lakers
He’s been cooking all season tbf. Had some massive games super early
he’s averaging 8 2 and 3. are you serious?
This is what happens when you look at stats and don’t watch the games. He’s one of our most reliable players in clutch moments. Stole victory from defeat at least half a dozen times this year.
This is one of those times when watching is different than stats. He might be our biggest addition this season. His story is just another reason Detroit loves this team. Simply put, he came out of nowhere, stepped in and won us games.
Heck, he made Ivey expendable.
When Cade has missed time he has stepped up tbf. Hes actaully been in a slump for a while now (until tonigh).
box score watcher
Damn that’s surprising, he’s had a decent amount of games where he’s had low minutes but he’s like Brandon Williams from the mavs and occasionally explodes. Especially against a team like the Lakers that can’t guard small fast quick type guards (especially without marcus). There’s a pattern with small quick guys doing well against the Lakers cause the team is slow and big
You clearly haven’t been watching the Pistons
So what he should has 20 FT this game and only has 8 FT
When you have the ball in your han that much getting fouled every play 8 FT is a joke
SGA woulda had 16 FT minimum this game
What a miserable life it must be to complain for more fts. You guys shot 7 more than us. Maybe make more of the fts you had, or dont have your “MVP” go 11⁄29.
And some of those FTs were from intentional fouls.
Never mind the multiple shots that were called off because Duren was fouled jumping up for a lob.
Imagine if you aren’t Luka/Lakers. Detroit prison ball is real fun
Not even in the same tier as SGA
I think I’m realizing that the reason why there’s always an OKC fan chirping in the comments of every Luka thread is that Oklahoma is so boring they have nothing else to do.
Nah, Luka schooled OKC in his mavs days that’s why they can never recover. Lucky for them there was Nico.
