[Highlight] Victor Wembanyama with the impossible block on Norman Powell’s reverse layup at the end of the shot clock (with replays). Spurs and NBC commentaries
This is why I don’t miss spurs games.
I’ve been watching basketball for over 40 years and he constantly does shit I’ve never seen anyone do before.
And all year I’ve been reading comments from people in this sub (not you, obviously) who claim he’s “just tall”.
Bunch of dipshits lmao
At the end of the season, there is gonna be an hour of Wemby block compilation.
And I will watch the hell out of it
What’s even better is all the clips of an offensive player driving into the lane, seeing Vic, and immediately backpedalling and walking right out again.
There’s one spurs fan who posts 5mins of these highlights after every single game.
Edit: this is his post after the Indy game. The next one (Miami) usually gets posted sometime in the 24hrs after a game:

Oh that will be the 5 hour extended edition.
Link to that channel?
He posts it on /r/nbaspurs after every game. Hes my personal goat
This is his post last game:
He does great work:

The perfect defender
Out of this world shit
Dude floated like a fucking ballerina on that block
The delta between the team block rate when he is on vs off the court is the largest in the league. He is just such a ridiculous defensive weapon.
Might be the most insane block I’ve ever seen. He’s not even in the paint and gets to the ball at the end of the backboard. That’s outrageous.
Nothing you can do about this. We’ve never seen a defender have this kind of length and mobility before. Mind you… he turned 22 two months ago…
It’s so beautiful.
Holy shit he reached over his head from behind and only connected with the ball. Thats the most uncanny block I’ve seen him make.
Crazy length. Mobile. Stretches the floor. God-tier defender. Yeah, you bet Spurs fans are ecstatic about the next 10 years with this guy.
How do you score on this guy, he’s a cheat code
What can you even do against that.
Literally insane to watch. He is genuinely a cheat code on defense. Out of this world.
I think this might be the first time I’ve seen someone in the NBA airball over the rim 😂
That has to be so depressing as a guard. Also, being chased like that by someone this big? damn.
Wemby’s been becoming way more of a playmaker this month. Bro is working to add Jokic-esque big man playmaking now.
League proper fucked
Should we just start calling him the Cheat Code?

Because usually when the guard puts the rim between him and the defender the defender can’t block it.
The angle at 1:23 is the most impressive.
Legitimate question: Have you ever played basketball?
Do you know how hard it is to catch someone from behind, let alone someone who is a foot+ shorter than you, let alone someone who’s going reverse to the opposite side of the hoop?
That’s literally supposed to be an unblockable shot. They teach you to use the reverse side of the rim specifically because it prevents defenders from doing this. It just doesn’t matter with Wemby.
It’s an impossible block without fouling because every other human being doesn’t have an 8 foot wingspan and the reflexes of a cheetah.
It’s typically hard to defend this because the player is ahead of you and can quickly get the shot off as soon as he’s under the net. Even for Wemby it’s incredibly difficult and is probably the only way to get off a shot on him
Been watching ball my whole life. Never seen someone blow up a reverse under the rim layup like that before.
That sort of layup is meant to avoid a shot blocker and it often does.
