I feel like the lakers announcers are pretty consistently praised as one of the best if not best announcers, especially if you’re a neutral/fan of the other team. They’re legitimately incredible.

Idk as an unbiased fan I’d argue there’s a reason Eric Collin’s is getting more national broadcasts lately. Seems people like him.
I like Eric’s jokes and sarcasm over the yelling. He trolls a lot and makes witty comments that commenators dont usually make, and it’s entertaining
I like the hornets announcers a lot, but there’s a good amount of people that do find it over the top. You can’t be the best if there’s something that a bunch of people have an issue with.

I’ve watched a lot on different broadcasts and lakers are definitely one of the best. They’re good at showing some hype but are usually pretty impartial. Some of the homers are embarrassing
There’s homers and there are also straight up whiny announcers like Suns and OKC announcers. Spurs are definitely homers but at least sean elliott, the color commentator, gives props to opposing teams and regularly glazes Arizona wildcats players regardless of team

The non-nationally broadcast games I watch are usually the Lakers announcers, so it’s jarring when I hear one of the homer announcers who are so biased they don’t live in reality.
The Celtics announcers are pretty notorious for their homerism. But I guess the rivalry was mostly dead after 1987 with a brief revival in 2008-2010
Dude I’ve been watching a lot of other team’s announcers because those are the streams I’ve been getting. The magic announcers were such a breath of fresh air and actually wasn’t too bad the rest of the game. I’ll understand them here being deflated considering how their own team fucked up 3 or 4 possessions in a row.
Yeah Orlando’s guys are usually solid

Yeah its hard because a bad mood REALLY shows… homerism needs a partner to balance it out, and a lot of replacement announcers mess that balance up. Warriors broadcast decline is the most obvious example.
That’s why continuity and mutli-sport/format broadcasters are wayyy better usually, you get that balance, feedback, and guys keeping habits of their predecessors.
With that said I like Turner and Steele on the Magic, they are very good broadcasters even if they can neuter a good moment for the other team sometimes lol
Lakers announcers are top 5, idc. They criticize their team and will show emotion on both ends. Not to mention they’re not blind when it comes to fouls or violations like some Bay Area commentators

These guys pmo so much too. They were making fun of Luka’s foul baiting when he had 1 ft in the first half, and on the 2 reviews of the Banchero x Lebron plays, they acted like it was 100% Magic’s ball on the first one, and they completely ignored the foul in the 2nd. Like how biased can you be? Just say “it’s a close one” or “might have been a foul but good for us” or smth.
When Fox hit a crazy game winning three as a King over them, it’s just “Fox, got it.” followed by radio silence

Hell sometimes I think Stu is the opposite of a homer and highly critical of the Lakers, while he constantly talks about how good opposing role and star players are, they just love the game overall
I had the Orlando feed too, and while I was pissed off at first, they were not nearly as homer-terrible as many other local announcers.
Don’t get me wrong, they were still homers, but they weren’t unrealistic assholes like Houston or Milwaukee.

Wayne Randazzo for the Angels too. One of the few bright spots in the org right now. He’s only been with the Angels for a few years but is highly regarded as one of the best in baseball.
Woah now, better not leave out Bob Miller and Jim Fox from the King! Bob was the voice of the Kings for 44 years and is also considered one of the best ever. Jim has been our color commentator for 35 years, and he’s excellent as well
I always hated the clippers announcers Ralph lawler and Bill Walton but some people think they were great (I can see their point if you only hear them in small doses).

I’m not a fan of Mychal. I like John tho, but John also gets far too down when the Lakers are losing. You can tell he loves em and his energy lowers when they’re playing bad
