[Highlight] Jaylen Brown uses off-arm to create space on McDaniels and draws the foul on Naz Reid with a hard fall (with replay)
This whole sequence is funny and kind of part of what frustrates me about the NBA.
Offensive players can get away with so much hand, elbow and arm movement on a defender and rarely get a push off call.
Naz rotates pretty well and instead of playing the ball, decides to play the body of Brown, which just results in a hard fall.
Just ugly all around
What’s especially funny about Naz is that this team is literally last in the NBA in charges drawn. They’d drawn like 5 all season as a team. I can’t remember the last time I saw someone slide in to try to take a charge.
I wonder if it’s because Naz didn’t go down. Like if the refs penalize him against charges because he’s big and Brown just bounces off of Naz
It’s pretty clearly because naz didn’t set his feet and jumped into JB. They should have called the offensive foul at half court tho

The problem with letting everyone play loose is Jaden can’t get low without risking his face..
then guys will stick their face out even farther to make sure they get the call. Then people are getting bloodied up.. That’s why I hated the first rounds of the playoffs last year it just gets more and more dangerous if you don’t call things tight in the first place
More offense = entertaining = more views and money for the NBA. They don’t care. I barely even watch the NBA now because of the foolishness.

Refs were allowing both teams to be physical; Wolves especially so in the first half (and in my opinion, Wolves stops got their offense going). In these types of games, incidental contact gets amplified. It sucks for Jaden but it definitely wasn’t intentional by Jaylen.
Yeah, this should have been called because of the face contact, but without the face contact this was consistent with how the game was called all night. Anyone claiming that defenders aren’t allowed the same physically was not watching the game.

Before this season I’ve never seen him do anything like this (aside from occasionally being a little too liberal with his elbow usage). But yeah lately to be honest he has started doing some questionable shit. I think he just got frustrated that other stars were getting more calls by flopping etc, and decided to finally add some of it to his game.
So I’m going to be consistent and call him out like I do with any player. But really the league needs to finally actually deal with the problem so that players don’t go do this path that JB has
Yea I have no problem with players playing like this if it continues to get them calls with no punishment. Every competitive person would and should do it. The problem is the refs and league allowing it
I mean I still do absolutely have a problem with it. I get why players do it, but I don’t want to watch that shit. It’s frustrating as hell to see on a replay that a guy took either no or hardly any contact and falls to the ground and gets a call, etc.
But ultimately it won’t go away until the league does something to address it

This! I have been stunned by how he never gets called for it. He does it every time he drives to the basket and it never gets called. I know he isn’t the only one but I do think the nba needs to begin cracking down on the stiff arm across the league because it makes it impossible for a defender.

I’ve never seen a player more consistently commit offensive fouls that go uncalled than Jaylen Brown. It’s way worse than SGA. The “off-arm extension” language just gives cover to blatant offensive fouls committed on nearly all of his drives to the basket, or, like SGA, right before he raises up for a mid range jumper.
And he has the audacity to complain about flopping. He abuses the system in his own way arguably more than any other player in the league.

They still call the off-arm hook, but the shove is fair game right now for some reason. Don’t ask me to justify it but it’s been consistent all year and it’s not a Jaylen Brown-specific thing.

Refs missed contact the face, which happens in every game. I don’t understand why this one deserves its own post. It didn’t affect the outcome as Minn cruised to victory.
I don’t mind that happening to McDaniels. He is way too aggressive all the time. He deserves it back.
