JJ Redick on missed foul on LeBron: “Another night where the explanations get changed based on a win. We had to overcome a lot tonight and you know exactly what i’m talking about”
I hope JJ Redick is always a coach because he is so accidentally funny. His crash-outs are incredible.
I absolutely love the constantly on the edge of annoyance thing. JJ cracks me up
That vein in head constantly popping out like some cranial boner.
Hm?
I didn’t grow up watching US sports but as a Euro it somehow makes him come across like an old-school soccer coach to me. Maybe it’s a universal coaching archetype though, I dunno.
Funny because typically “constantly on the edge of annoyance” people aren’t well liked.
honestly, I miss podcast JJ more.
I hear that but also really miss him in the media instead we get guys like Kendrick fucking Perkins.
I’m looking forward to his first ejection.
He says based on a “whim” here not “win”
doing the Lord’s work
when “wHell aCkshuLLy” is the right thing to do
Very clearly too, no excuse
Whim, win, when, worm, womb, wham, welm, whatever.
What if English isn’t their first language?
git gud
Where do they keep getting this Hawkeye camera angle bro I seen it twice and both times against LeBron
Exclusively only for Bron
It’s not even a league camera, there’s just always an AC-130 following LeBron at all times
This gave a me an audible chuckle lol nice
LeYujiro
Gotta film the goat with the god cam
Prob gathering footage for the inevitable documentary
They straight up called in a UAV on Bron twice.
Only player I’ve ever seen that done for. lol
The big hawkeye vs lebron controversy intensifies.
Idk but that shit was so blurry I worried my TV went out
Say what you want about the Lakers getting calls, but that last play with Bron was wild. Nothing but arm on a game tying layup.
Flashback to that Tatum foul on LeBron’s layup a few years ago
That one was way worse though considering the score and eventual result
created one of the funniest moments ever tho
Eric Lewis exposed too.
Good fuck that guy
Aaaand he’s back
God damnit.
Pat Bev heritage
I miss Pat Bev 🤣
Worth it
We got that iconic crashout from LeBron at least
Iconic crash out. 4 game altering screw job no calls in like 3 weeks culminating in being screwed in boston garden by an out and out celtic homer ref. He was all of us at that moment
I remember after the game the refs admitted the bad call and actually apologized on twitter. Never saw anything like that.
Eric Lewis is looking up at us smiling at that play.
Arm over Kobe’s shoulder
What was the call on Ayton’s intentional miss? I didn’t hear what they called
It just ended up being a timeout by orlando, I’m not sure why the refs handled it like that. They were lost out there tonight.
The reaves review blew my mind as well.
Bron has always had a bad whistle
That last line goes hard while probably avoiding a fine lol
Just in the first quarter there were three INSANE calls. Austin getting a foul while mauled by carter, Smart getting battered and not getting the call and Luka’s last shot of the quarter which was such an obvious call that they ”missed”
Let’s not forget that technical on Smart because the defender tripped/landed on his foot. The refs tonight were horrendous.
I was talking about the first quarter, there were so many insane calls for the whole game
Mark Davis officiating through the first three quarters: “They could pull out a gun and shoot you you’re just gonna have to man up”
Mark Davis officiating in the 4th quarter: “Breathe and it’s a flagrant 1, breathe again and your bloodline will be eradicated”
also very early in the game, luka clearly gets hacked after he gathered but they called it a non shooting foul
Later, a reporter even mentioned the team playing through things with officiating and JJ said “I didn’t mention officiating” lol. And then kept referencing “external factors outside our control”.
Those drone cams are only for Lebron man im fucking cryin son lmao
Be crazy if it’s footage from the camera crew Bron has following him around
It’s for the Bron documentary but also doubles as a ref cam to pay the bills.
That was requested specially by the people making the drones, kd and curry
LeDrone James
Based on a whim.
Based on a when?
Based on a whom.
It’s easy to look the other way because we won but this game was poorly officiated from the start. WCJr. 2 hand shoved Reaves to the ground and it was called a foul on AR lol
My favorite was not just called a foul, but they challenged it and the refs upheld it upon review. They rewatched their fuck up in slow motion from multiple angles and put on some blind man begging glasses and said “I didn’t see shit” and the fact they won’t be disciplined for being so ass is fucking mind boggling.
They gonna rescind Luka’s tech and give it to JJ and a fine
Did he get a tech today?
Yes, he responded to a guy who supposedly said something about his mother in another language. He’ll be suspended if it’s not rescinded
What’s the truth. I’m hearing magic fans complain abt the refs, I’m hearing this. Whats the truth
Watched the game. Refs were horrific on both sides tbh. Made an ugly game uglier
First half was horrendous against the Lakers
The 3rd quarter in particular was super soft calls on the Magic
4th was just some bullshit all ways
Refs were shit all around. Both teams have legit gripes. Whoever won this game finished crawling through a mountain of shit slightly faster than the other.
Best description I seen of them tonight so far.
Last minute was a clusterfuck that included several competing makeup calls, one of the longest reviews I’ve ever seen to determine a ball didn’t hit LeBron’s shorts even though it really looked like it hit his shorts, a really ill-advised timeout that it seemed like the Magic tried to deny calling (unclear), and a bad uncalled foul on Paolo coupled with a classic “I didn’t call the foul but I’m calling it out of bounds off of the guy who fouled even though it clearly wasn’t” which stands out even more than usual because it turned what would’ve been LeBron FTs to tie into a Kennard 3 to win.
Just every version of bad/controversial officiating at once. People are rightfully going to have less sympathy for Orlando because they were also just doing everything they could to lose.
This is right. I felt (very biased) we were getting screwed all game but the last 10 seconds everything went perfectly right for us. I also dont understand how they couldnt tell whether the ball hit bron on the out of bounds with 5 seconds left. Looked fairly clear.
Not at all, with that satellite camera it looked extremely close but not clear at all. Like could have been a slight graze off the shorts could have been a half millimeter off. In that case you call the last most obvious touch which affected ball movement.
My guess was that it was obvious to the refs that it must’ve hit LeBron’s shorts based on the trajectory of LeBron and the ball, but there just somehow wasn’t an angle that showed the moment of impact. Would explain why they took forever and were pulling out all the crazy angles and ultimately just had to leave it as is.
probably tried to look for if the fabric rippled but even that was absent
The original call was Lakers ball. For any call to be overturned, the evidence had to be very, very clear that it was the wrong call.
One of the really funny things about the uncalled foul is that if it’s not a foul it’s almost certainly off of Bron. They were just wrong in every way they could be
Back when out of bounds was auto reviewed and there were no challenges that call would have really fucked me up
Refs are on an all time stinker past two weeks in general. Horrible both ways.
I’d say horrible for most of the game vs the Lakers. Terrible for magic on a few crucial possessions.
It would appear that it’s not so much the game got out of hand, as it is the officiating crew never had control of the game to begin with.
It was just a bad game in terms of nonstop whistles. I was by the Lakers tunnel and Lebron/Luka/JJ were in arguing mode since basically tip off. Luka, Marcus were following the refs around to keep talking during timeouts and stoppages
With how Bron shooting FT, maybe it was a blessing that led to Luke’s game winner
Refs lost control of the game and called a tech on Luka for words back to Goga after he said something about his family in a different language
Trying to get control because the refs lost it with endless bad calls. classic
the refs def had money on orlando winning the first half
It’s Florida. Probably the most corrupt place in the world. Second to Russia.
He said, “based on a whim” not win. I really don’t like ai translating or our basic entire society getting stupider.
REFS
A lot of refs sucky calls?
JJ choosing his words… carefully.
What about when they gave Smart a tech for falling over? one of the craziest reffing displays i have seen recently lmao
The other player even landed on his leg
I’ve been watching NCAA games so I don’t know what he’s talking about with that last line. But I still like it.
Bet lakers in the playoffs. All this whining will get them better calls.
Paolo fouled Bron but also it was out off Bron’s leg the play before.
Ass both ways.
I mean they pulled out the overhead drone and reviewed it for like 10 minutes.
yep and it was still off bron lmao
They originally called it in favor of lakers. I don’t think there was enough video evidence to overrule it. Couldn’t even tell for sure if it even touched LeBron. Looked like Pablo still had a hand on the ball last.
When you’re having to use a 480p drone to say that it might be off Bron there’s not enough evidence to overturn it. Overturns should only ever take a minute and should be obvious
If you lost the challenge and the next game it goes the same way, what’s the complaint? Two different sets of referees reach the same conclusion in different ways. I’m not even sure Paolo gets the ball at all but JJ’s bitching doesn’t even make sense to me.
Oh my god shut the fuck up you have the most favorable calls in the league
Tell me you don’t watch Lakers games without telling me…
Lakers complaining about officials 🤦♂️
Fun fact: The Timberwolves hold the 5th best single season FT advantage since 1996 with the 2013 - 2014 season where they shot +695 more FTs than their opponents.
In 2013. You for real with this? And 5th best. Who are the top 4??
Not even true. Funny thing is, the top 5 are
You are lying.
I know this laker asshole isn’t complaining about whistles lol
Fun fact: Since moving the team in 2008, the OKC Thunder have the 6th best FT differential amongst all teams at +1,880 FTs. The Seattle SuperSonics from 1996 to 2007 had a -143 total FT differential in those years.
I know the Free-Throw MVP fan isn’t talking
Biting the hand that feeds you as the playoffs are approaching
Bold strategy
I’m sorry, whether or not it was the wrong call in that one instance on LeBron, because of the Lakers history of absurd foul favoritism, I’m never going to have sympathy for something like this, especially in a game they won.
Sure why be objective??
Here’s what we want: the right calls. Screw your thinking. Yes LA gets a favorable whistle historically. However call it like it is… foul, no foul, out on bron or not. Just get it right.
He didn’t mention that Luka was 2 for 13 in the second half
Um lol why would he?
Because I’m very important and JJ should listen to me
You might be an unbearable person

Didn’t know the Thunder were getting draft picks from Krakoa
