BUT a better comparison (and more impressive in my opinion) would be Curry’s ²⁰⁄₂₁ season when his usage rate was his highest~34.8%. and he had to carry a lot of offesnive burden, which is closer to current Luka’s (37.7%).

- That season Curry still shot a VERY VERY good 42.1% on 3pt 12.7 attempts per game (not quite 45% though but thats expected with higher usage rate / more defensive focus by opponents since their team was mid )

What all are you referencing? Honestly I’ve never heard of any of that and the nickname always made sense to me because shooting is inherently through the air (sky) and he’s so good and he can just fuck it whenever he wants. He’s an incredible scorer and volume shooter. However, in his 17 years in the league he has posted a 3pt% that is 2% better than league average.

He’s not a great 3 point shooter and that is perfectly OK. It doesn’t diminish him as a player. He can just be very good at it and it’s still well worth him having him shoot 10 a game. Try having some nuance in your life.

Luka making 40% on 10.9 attempts over a 34-game stretch is not really comparable.

In 2026, Luka Doncic is averaging 10.9 3PA per game at a 40% shooting clip. Which would be very comparable to many Steph Curry shooting seasons.
