Thanks stranger. My dad died of alcoholism. I was on my way. NA beers and a little weed did the trick. Now I go to the gym 4-5 days a week, have lost 40 lbs with 10 more to go. Sometimes I wish I could sit here and drink 6-10 IPAs but those days don’t come often and are outweighed by the positives.

It was so hard to break the habit of needing to have a beer every night going to the habit of going to the fridge and grabbing something to drink and it needed to be a beer. The way I got around that is to eat an edible and then crack open a nonalcoholic beer and it helped me get past the craving.

I coach basketball full time and at 31 I think by February of his freshman year of high school would be the point where I would lose consistently and I’ve played against lower level pros recently. I’ll give myself the muscle mass advantage at his 13, but by 14-15 he’s dunking and fast as fuck and gaining muscle quickly, and 6’4” and he’s actually learning basketball, and by 16 he’s NBA ready basically. At 13 he’s the height of a normal man and still somewhat human, by 14 he’s an elite 14 year old, at 16 he’s an elite athlete period.
As long as I’m still taller I’d probably win because I actually played low level college ball, he’d be young and I’m not that old yet but he’d probably beat me about his second year of highschool maybe towards the end of the first it would be getting rough. I’d get absolutely destroyed beyond that point. I’ve played against actual NBA players and D1 athletes before and people don’t understand how out of hand it can get even if by normal people standards you’re very good. He was taking those leaps and more in the two years following his second year of HS so it would be far out of reach by the time he was a senior
