Midseason it’s easy to talk yourself into “Oh well if XYZ happens we’re good and don’t need to take that risk” but once XYZ doesn’t happen and you’re out in the first round, risk-taking is the name of the game. It might not be the Rockets necessarily, but there are enough teams that could potentially find themselves in that same situation where they know they’re not going to get over the hump staying the course that somebody is still likely to throw a lot of assets in and hope for the best with his health.

He was injured during that run as well. He literally had his knee get inverted in one of the games against Atlanta, it was diagnosed as a hyper extension but he came back and powered through it for the rest of the playoffs.

He is extremely lucky to have carried that squad to a chip 😭😭

Not year after year. Just 2023 and 2024. He was healthy 2022 and 2025 problem was Middleton and Dame weren’t. And the back injury in 2023 was more so a freak accident caused by Kevin Love sliding under him for the charge attempt.
