Deandre “Not Clint Capela” Ayton facing Capela tonight: 7 PTS, 11 REB, 1 STL, 1 BLK on 3⁄6 shooting
Since Ayton’s viral comment that “he is not Clint Capela”, tonight he faces Capela and ended up with 7 points, 11 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block.

those last two fgs were clutch af though negl
Thats the mentality he needs. No need to demand the ball and all that, if you stay active on the glass and solid on positioning the ball comes to you. Especially against a team with no true C, you can feel the presence
When you’re on a team with LeBron, AR, and Luka you’re not getting the ball no matter if you were Jesus fucking Christ. I swear he feels like his career will be in a WORSE standing for being on this team without any justification for it.

Like they say, its not how you finish, its how you start
Pause
And yet Ayton won his team the game, so that shit doesnt matter. Not Ayton’s fault Clint’s coach doesnt trust him
He was mid, but we don’t win without Ayton tonight.
Everyone outside of Luka was at best mid tonight. Lucky the Rockets are somehow even worse
Nah, smart was good
LeBron was 18/5/5 with over 50% shooting with only 1 TO and a team high +13
Did you read the name you started the sentence with? By his standards he was mid
Good thing this was a bad game for us and a typical game for them.
All we needed tonight, rebound and finish the open ones
Thats all the lakers needed.
A mid center
Yeah, and that’s more or less what they’ve gotten from him this year. He’s had like 75% mid games and slightly more great than awful games. For how much they paid him for this year he’s been a steal. He’d probably still be fine at $15m, but I don’t think he gets more than that because of the inconsistency and attitude issues. Despite frequent Ayton hate posts from bitter Suns fans, he’s been fine and far from the biggest issue with the team.
Mid for most of the game but his effort down the stretch I felt like really sealed the game for us
He was mid but everybody else was ass
Came up clutch in the end
Not Luka
Neither was bron, he played great defense tonight
I am glad, expect that from him in first round
You can see that potential when he actually puts in effort like at the end of the game. He can rebound, defend and is a big body with a nice touch in the paint.
To be fair, Ayton is already shooting a career-high FG% this year on career-low USG%, and is shooting the highest volume (as a percentage of his total FGA) of shots inside 10FT of his entire career, and is one of the league leaders in FG% in that range.
He’s doing very well. His judgement was always going to be the playoffs.
Tbf it is hard fighting in the paint against all the physicality and athletic bodies on the Rockets as the sole big man for us.
Rockets got players with springs, getting rebound or trying to score in the paint normally against them is hard af.
This post would of cooked without the last 2 minutes of the game.
Guess it still could for the folks who didn’t watch.
Where are those dumbass Rocket fans clowning Ayton about not even being better than Capela😂 Y’all scored 12 points in the 4th with Ayton on the floor. Ayton has brought the energy when we needed him the most for defense in these late game situations
He showed up when it mattered the most.
Won em the game down the stretch, second highest +/- (I know it doesn’t mean a ton for single games but they won his minutes), accepted a backseat possession wise to be a dog on defense and help with the dirty work.
Outside of the Denver game he left almost immediately, he’s been great in March. He’s better when Austin is healthy.
He was great in clutch time
He lowk won them the game
Not lowk. They went up with an Ayton shot that got goaltended. He won that game with his fresh legs
He was quite embarrassing to start the game but huge in the 4th. All we need is for him to be decent and it goes a long way
He clutched tho
Got us the win though.
Honestly if you told me I could consistently get this stat line and play from DA every game in the future, I’d sign up for it.
Have you seen his per game averages this season?
Ayton is already shooting a career-high FG% this year on career-low USG%, and is shooting the highest volume (as a percentage of his total FGA) of shots inside 10FT of his entire career, and is one of the league leaders in FG% in that range as well.
You can tell who watched the game based on these comments. Ayton got them the points to close the game
Came through in clutch
He’s a better team player than Luka ngl
