[Highlight] After 41 years in Seattle, the SuperSonics last game was an April 12, 2008 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
Been watching the NBA for nearly 50 years, I cannot wait to see the SuperSonics back in action.
(Mods, I know this technically is against the rule against older highlights but come on, we just heard that the Super Sonics are coming back!)
They might be coming back. Fingers crossed.
They comin back. Fingers and toes crossed.
”…and ‘lo the city will come out and sing Baby Got Back and throw pine branches down on the street as old, almost retired, KD rides in on a Donkey. “He has returned” we will all say. “The son of the Sonics has returned!”
Sonics/Thunder in Seattle is gonna be legendary. SGA will be the most hated man in that city😂
lol why would he be? are they dumb?
Well… Imagine how Cleveland felt after Ray Lewis won a ring in Baltimore. It wasn’t pretty.
There are old heads in Baltimore who still hate John Elway cause he won two rings in Denver.
18 years later, it’s crazy to see KD and Green still playing together.
Was there in attendance! KD was always a real one.
Same! I was in middle school at the time. Such a weird time.
Hard to pin down which is the most surprising part of this game: The 18 win Sonics beating the 50 win Mavs, 2 of these players still being in the league 18 years later, or the Key Arena roof not leaking onto the floor during gameplay.
I was at this game 😢
I still remember this day. That whole week was pure sadness as it was the close of the inevitable. Howard Schultz, the city of Seattle will never forgive you for the level of greed and terrible ownership you showcased to us during the entire process.
