DeMar DeRozan in the victory against the Jazz: 41 points, 11 assists, game high +16.
36 years old and can still get you buckets.
He could possibly reach 27,000 career points by the end of the season. Hopefully 30,000 by the end of his career.
Build the shittiest roster of washed vets Lose a fuck ton of games At the end of the season, let the vets statpad against other shit teams to fuck up your tank

Kings Masterclass
THE BEAM DEMANDS A SACRIFICE
That sacrifice is ping pong balls.
Can’t blame the jazz, just wish the kings and nets management were as shameless as Utah and pacers. Pathetic they’ll finish close in the rankings
Dawg we actually tried the first half of the season we just had an ungodly amount of injuries. Also, this is like our first year ever tanking. The Kings and Nets have probably tanked a collective 30 seasons in the last 25 years
Vivek is a clown of an owner
Yeah how dare he have players that can score.
Kangz never left
Maybe they’re building up his value so they can trade him for something valuable give him an even bigger extension
Even worse is it’s against the Jazz and this is probably exactly what they wanted to happen lol.
demar I see demar i like it
Kings are now 4th in the Tankathon, I thought they had the worst record on lock like a month ago
Bro that was like two wild ago LMAO
I was surprised he didn’t get traded or bought out earlier this season, but his time of contributing on a winning team is probably over.
Nice to see him still getting buckets
Will be interesting to see what happens to him after this season. He is under contract for one more year at \(25.7 million, but the Kings can buy him out for \)10 million. With a lot of other big contracts and money on the books next season and a high draft pick likely coming in, it wouldn’t surprise me if they decide to just eat the $10 million to free up a bit of money (even though they’ll still be over the cap) and a roster spot.
After that we’ll see if he enters the Russell Westbrook phase of his career: signing with teams for the minimum to be a scoring burst off the bench.
DeMar is likely good enough to get a healthy portion of the MLE still. Russ has consistently had a tiny market because he typically ends his playoff run poorly, thus shrinking the contender pool that may want him. It also is very clear after he leaves that he still has a strong expectation of minutes.
DeMar is still an absolute bucket who can dictate the pace of the game less chaotically, so he’d be a solid sixth enough sixth man assuming he doesn’t just fall off a cliff.
It’s just difficult because he kind of needs to be the center of attention on offense, so unless he takes a real sixth man role and mainly leads bench units, he has a limited ceiling. The Pistons desperately need another playmaker/scorer, so he would be a great bench addition (what they were hoping LeVert would be). But he couldn’t plug into the starting lineup all that well since they are already devoid of spacing. He’s a really tough fit, and I’m not trying to judge him as a person or his character, but he probably has some expectation of starter-level minutes as a 16 year NBA veteran and multi-time All-Star/All-NBA guy
Oh totally agree. He’s only really going to be valuable to a contender at this point. But he’s not a proper fit anywhere with his $25M contract, because that’s simply too much to pay for a guy who simply cannot be on your best lineups due to playstyle.
I pray he would come back here and give us another guy besides BI who can get a bucket when no one else can. Preferably off the bench though.
yeah we’re not getting a high draft pick anymore, we screwed ourselves with this current streak plus another few wins against the Nets coming up
He’s my hero for today. He’s the reason I have the logo of the team that he’s on for my profile picture because I promised I’ll have the Kings logo as my profile picture if the Jazz lose to the Kings, and DeMar made it happen
You can have the worst record in the league, but you will never be the worst Team in the league.
I hope the Kings get a really good pick. They’re incompetent, but I like that they try to be competent
This is such a tough argument. They’re definitely trying, but I’m not sure how much they’re trying to be competent as opposed to just grabbing players they like.
They make some of the most baffling roster decisions that everyone knows make no sense from the start. Then they throw massive minutes at vets instead of trying to balance out the minutes to allow for more player development and strategically help their lottery odds.
I hate tanking, but the kings aren’t even trying to be competent. They just grab players they like and throw big minutes at them despite it clearly not being a viable long term strategy.
Shrodinger’s tank
Schröder’s tank
(yes i know hes not on the team anymore)
I can watch Deebo shoot mid rangers all day
If he doesn’t get injured, he should pass Gervin, Dominique and the Big O by the end of the season. Just passing legend after legend.
Damn I wish DRoz were somewhere his play would matter
Should be on the pistons rn
DeRozan playing without winning expectations is probably the deadliest player in the world.
Is DeMar a HOF’er if he hits 30k?
he’s basically a lock for HoF already, given his total points scored.
Only a 6x all star and 3x all nba. He has a weaker award resume than Chauncey Billups, and Chauncey was a fringe case.
He’s 21-st all time in NBA/ABA points scored. He’ll easily reach top 15 assuming he plays next year (which is a certainty barring career ending injuries).
Every one in the top 50 is either already in the HoF, or almost certain to make it.
Ppl overestimate the bar for the basketball HoF, longevity gets u a long ways there
He also has a career 21.2 ppg average so it’s not like him scoring a lot of points is solely a factor of him playing a long time and becoming a compiler.
Still stronger than Walter Davis who was 6x All Star and 2x All NBA who was inducted just two years ago
He is 18th in NBA history in total points scored, though. BB reference gives him a 48.7% chance on making the hall of fame. I think he will, but we shall see
6 All Stars and 3 All NBAs are plenty for the Hall of Fame.
The Frank Gore of the NBA
It’s basketball. He’s a lock right now.
Basketball basically lets almost anyone into the Hall at this point of time.
Better then LeBron at 36
Be so fr…
Given the absolute lack of playmaking in today’s league, LeBron is simply immensely more valuable in the league. Scoring is easy to find. Elite facilitation and organizing the offense isn’t.
my hero, won’t forget this when peterson/dybantsa/boozer is in a pacers jersey ♡
When I think the Kings can’t get more incompetent, here we are, letting our tank explode cause Derozan and Westbrick will chase their numbers against teams that know how to tank properly. Man, shit is funny, not tragic anymore, just damn funny
kings looked like they had everything a few szns ago. Even just last szn they were hyping up the beam. wtf happened to them
