The long term project has a great breakout game, as he continues his growth.
Cody fucking Williams developed a shot before Bilal Coulibaly alright bro
Love the tanking team beef between our mid players. Similarly I’ve always felt CDub was disrespected being lumped in with Salaun.
Tbf he and Salaun were both high draft picks that everyone knew would be projects, and both had pretty horrendous rookie seasons, so associating the two wasn’t a stretch. I still wouldn’t give up on Salaun yet either.
Man look at Salaun when he’s on the court. He has absurd length.
Maybe the closest species to Wemby among the nba youngins.
If he develops just average basketball skill, he’d already be a top 8 rotation player
Yeah he and Cody are similar in that the length and athleticism to have a very good wing are there, they need to put everything else together. Both were super super raw coming into the league though, hopefully both make it.
Salaün has been much improved this season! He’s shooting 43% from 3 (on 5 3’s per 36) and 50% from the field. He’s just not getting high minutes because Miles Bridges and Grant Williams are currently better.
If Salaün were playing for a tanking team this season, then people would be able to see how much he’s grown. If he continues to develop at the same rate, then he’ll be a legitimately good rotation player on a playoff bound roster!
Cody was maybe the only player in the league worse than salaun last year
If anything it was the other way around
Cody Williams is shooting 24%3PT, he hasn’t developed shit yet lol
Perfect time to sell high to a certain team.
We do have the brother already
At the age Cody was last year, Jalen was in the WCC averaging 11 points on 39 percent from the field, 27% from 3.
People acting like he had no chance to improve after last year were outrageous.
which jalen bro theres like 70 of em
His brother. JDub.
oh i didnt know that, cool
Way too many Jalens in the nba. 🎵
CODY FREAKING WILLIAMS. I’m glad I never doubted him last season. I kept on saying he was drafted as a prospect. He bulked up after eating 4,500 calories a day in the offseason, and Confidence Cody has been here since 2026 began. Adrenaline was in his soul today
All you Cody is a bust people are clowns
Edit - I have a Kings profile Pic after saying I will change my profile to the Kings logo for a day if the Jazz lose to the Kings, just for anyone confused.
You originally said until Wednesday! Come on, bro!
Yeah, glad I never doubted him or thought he was literally the worst rotation player in the league last season by a wide margin
😬😬😬
Happy for him but his leap has been to go from “guy who doesn’t get a 2nd contract” to now “wing with some potential but will likely be a journeyman”.
He still needs another similar sized jump to be an important part of a competitor
Well the great thing about 21 year olds is that they become 22 year olds, and on and on. The improvement is real, and his physical makeup is elite. His peak is very high if improvement is compounded year on year
Was he really eating that much? Seems excessive even at his height
He said that to a reporter during the offseason. And it was actually 4,800 calories. Dude took the need to bulk up seriously and it showed - there was a video of him and his brother, and it was crystal clear that Cody was way too skiinny for the league.
That’s dedication, respect it
JDub also put on a lot of muscle between his first and second seasons
That’s not excessive if you’re burning a lot of calories while trying to bulk up
That’s probably just over maintenance calories for a dude that tall with an NBA workout plan.
Bet most of the league is over 4k calories a day during the season unless they are trying to cut weight
Cody is gonna finish his story bro trust me
The only way he’ll do it is if he plays every game with Adrenaline in his Soul
In 2026 he’s been a very capable player. Averaging 9/4/2 on 52/30/72 or 58% True shooting. Along with pretty solid defense. Not elite or anything but definitely not worst player in the league massive bust level
9/4/2 in 27min on a tanking team is still pretty awful
I’m not going to say the guy can’t continue to improve, but the fact that this is something to write home about is a sign of just how bad things were
I mean look 10ppg on decent efficiency and really solid defense isn’t going to get you any votes on an MVP ballot for sure, but I think it shows that Cody is an NBA player right now and that he still has more upside to explore, which is a far cry from what he showed us last year.
I’m really not sure he’s an NBA player in terms of ability right now, but he has upside worth pursuing regardless
he’s about to beat the bust allegations. love to see it.
good for bro hope he can keep it up and get some play time for whatever the jazz are cooking next season
No. We want more. We want the brother being better than the other brother.
Then the other brother teams up with the other brother a la Morris twins
Is risacher the only player from that draft that didnt get better? Bruh.
Cody Williams Island’s real estate has never looked better.
If he can keep the shooting looking good he’s such a valuable piece for the Jazz next year.
If this guy comes into form fr, jazz have a pretty damn good squad depending on where they land in the lottery.
I know he had a lot of flaws coming out of college, but he’s physically talented and his brother is a star. He’s got a chance to become a starter in the league.
He actually got better and showed he has some offensive bag in him
Risacher fr getting passed up on by cody williams atp
cody williams truthers RISING (had him at #1 on my big board and have been eating crow since lol)
March basketball baby
Good signs from him - esp as of late
Will be telling on this next year, kings stink and Jazz are allowing their young guys to just play
He will end up better than his brother
FUCK NO
bro Cody been putting in work while Bills still tryna figure it all out
The western conference Salaun, except our make a wish kid has never had a game half as impressive
He’s shooting 43% from 3 don’t disrespect him
He’s the better brother. Watch.
Maybe not, older bro ended up being a lot better than I thought he was going to be but a few years back I said said Cody was the better brother
Definitely not impossible, younger brothers seem to be the better ones
I can’t see it happening honestly
Maybe he will be as good as his brother.
Any stat line in March by a young player that isn’t very good is fake respectfully
