Wemby reminds me of the 80s and 90s stars – insanely competitive and doesn’t act friendly with opponents, at least not on the court. But you can tell Jokic seems to like and admire Wemby, and even tried to talk to him after the game on Thursday but Wemby was looking angry after not being able to help stop the comeback. I could see Jokic talking to him in the off-season and at the Olympics in 2028, then possibly be a mentor when he retires and is no longer an opponent. They both seem like good dudes off the court.

He makes those sorts of passes almost every game. But the Spurs have so many good guards that he rarely needs to be that guy. He’s also not great at protecting his dribble yet. He may never be on Jokic’s level as a playmaker, but he has the vision to be one of the best playmaking centers in the league.
