What does overly reliant on blocks mean? It would be like saying an offensive player is overly reliant on scoring. Blocking a shot is just about the best thing you can do on defense.

There’s several guys you could argue are more skilled than Wemby (better positioning, better understanding of defensive schemes, better motor, etc).
But Wemby is like 95th percentile at most of those things, and his unreal physical dimensions means that his actual, physical impact on games is unmatchable, 1-of-1. His margin for error is just obscenely high, and as he gets older and plays more and more pro basketball, he will continue improving at the BBIQ side of the game.
