It was versus a depleted warriors team but still there is no denying he dominated. Great mid range night for him nailing those baseline fades. Also a solid 3 point shooting night at 4-9. Surprisingly great playmaking from him as well especially in the Ant dosmonmu lineups. Wolves have a lot of problems Ant ain’t one.

Yeah, it was 100% Ant nailing the deep threes in the 4th that killed their momentum and stopped any run from materializing after they got it within like 5. Tbh this Warriors team deserves more credit. They’ve got some real max-hustle players there and can make a good team pay for taking them lightly. Been weirdly enough a fun watch to root for them against good teams after what they did to my Nuggs.

Well I’ve watched Rudy at Minnesota for years as well, and conley was getting regular minutes for a couple years. Rudy still fucked up catching a whole lot of passes from him, it’s literally the most common complaint against him. If Rudy were a good lob threat he would be easily the best two-way centre after Wemby in the league but he could never get there.

Ant was phenomenal but to say he’s not a problem is crazy. His defense is quite literally one of their three or four most glaring problems. Hes become the best 3 level scorer in basketball at the expense of pretty much the entirety of the rest of his game.

Ant is solid at defense, but when he tries to carry the load offensively and keep up on the other end of the floor he gets gassed. Wolves need to either build a more offensively capable team around him so he can score maybe 25 a game with better defense, or accept he’ll put up incredible offensive numbers with bad defense and try to work around that.

Yeah I just completely disagree that he’s playing solid defense this season. He could be— and he’s shown plenty of evidence of this over the years— an all-NBA defensive player. But this season, he’s consistently playing some of the worst defense he’s played since his rookie year. He’s an absolute liability off-ball.

This whole idea that his offense load is too high for him to play good defense is also just wild. Wemby, JB, and SGA all have higher usage rates and are legit two-way players, and Ant has shown that he can handle extremely high usage while still being a contributor on defense. I just totally reject that because he’s scoring an efficient 30 a game that that means we have to be okay with him playing terrible defense.

If you want better D from Ant give him an actual PG so he doesnt have to bring the ball up against heavy pressure all Game. That is very energy taxing.

Ants defense isnt where it needs to be cause his workload on offense is to heavy and he needs to pace himself to not be gassed in the 4th.

Ants defense Regression correlates with Conleys general decline.

A fix could be starting Ayo instead of DDV. Ayo has a way better handle and actually can dribble against pressure and drive the bball. Both these traits help reduce Ants workload from an energy Management standpoint.
