Wilt’s 100 point game probably looked a lot more like Bam’s 83 point game than it did Kobe’s 81
Just saying folks, do we really think the talent gap was further in this weeks game than it was in the Hershey Sports Arena in 1962? Lol A lot of people are razzing bam and the gameplan but its almost certain he did it against tougher competition than Wilt did at that time - the 100 point game was also a blowout for most of the second half so the circumstance were pretty similar all thing considered.
Just posting this cuz I thought it was funny to consider given all the discourse naturally going around, a lot of which is kinda silly in the first place - everyone holds the 100 point game up as sacred but it probably looked ugly as hell too lol - worth noting most outlier performances rarely come during normal games situation or circumstances.
Lastly super happy for Bam! Dude is a great player who approaches bball the way everyone says players should, and now he’ll have a place in NBA history for a long long time, that’s awesome.
