I would pay serious money to see the analytics that teams have on what makes White so good.

You can feel it watching that everything just works better on both ends whenever he’s on the court but it’s hard to point out exactly what it is that he does differently on offense (his defense is a little easier to notice).

Was having an argument with my friend about this, because he said D White “fell off” and I was trying to explain that he didn’t necessarily, its just that he is utilized much differently in the offense this year. He is not a great “scoring engine” but he is a great “opportunistic scorer.” By that i mean he is not great at generating offensive opportunities for himself, but is great at scoring via opportunities created for him through other people’s threat, pressure or screening.

Because of the massive loss of offensive options in the off season, he has had to take up a much larger role on offense, where he was previously, mostly, a facilitator+ catch and shoot guy. With him basically forced to be one of our top 3 offensive options nightly, he is also facing significantly more defensive pressure than he had had to in the past. I imagine as tatum gets back into the swing of things, and our young talent continues to develop, we will see his efficiency come back around.

Most overrated player in the league. Good but not elite passer, inefficient mid to high volume scorer, mediocre rebounder for a 5, below average defender. How the actual fuck is this dude always showing up inside the top 20 player lists. He’s not even in my top 50.

It’s bad but it’s really not that out of the ordinary when you compare to non-jokic guys who create unassisted shots out of the post. Just because you aren’t shooting 6 threes a game doesn’t mean that you magically get DeAndre Jordan shot difficulty. It’s much more reasonable to criticize the lack of shooting and defense or even his FT% than it is to ask why he isn’t converting post-ups at a historic level when he is the primary playmaker.

He’s at least helping them tank in an ethical way, keeping fans happy as a legend plays his heart out… Without threatening the team’s chances of tanking.

They have the second best offense in the league by using their inefficient, high usage players to generate efficient shots for their role players. Thats why its hard for the media to pin down “whose” team it is, because its really neither jaylen nor jayson’s team, its mazzullas.

They go all in on the 3 ball. Most nba teams are at 1.14 ppp I think? If they shoot 33% that’s .999 which is coke and tbostin rarely shoots like ass for large stretches on weeks

Jaylen Brown is inefficient? First Ive heard of it.

Shooting guard average is 57%. So not terribly inefficient for his shot diet which is some of the hardest on this list.

He is a great mid range and rim finisher, but his 3 is streaky to bad. Gotta wonder if it’s shot selection since he has a beautiful jumper, but he’s got to find consistency from 3 if he wants to be a quality 2 guard.

Also one of the worst defenders on this list, got better this year, but still bad.

I have it on good authority that guys with 55% TS drop 80+.

Tbf, they’ve been in the bottom half of this list pretty much all year. I know Paolo has been heating up a little bit post all-star break, so he’s managed to squeak his way just outside of this list.

His floater is not money every time he shoots it at a below 50% rate

His confidence in his body is back since the Suns game where he accidentally stepped on someone’s foot and didn’t get injured. The Kings game last night is the best he’s played (other than the Wiz game where he was just mega hot from 3) since his injury where all he really did was shoot 3s before the Phoenix game

He’s really not a smart shooter though
