He has an extremely high chance. I’d put it > 50% that he ends up top 10 when he finishes his career.

He’s probably the best example of a player who’s just damn solid for his entire career. Always healthy, always scoring. No matter the circumstance and overtime ur totals are just gonna keep adding up. Nothing special in terms of superstardom but just always consistent and still an all star level scorer. He’s like if every other fringe all star was always the first option, never hurt, and played 15-20 years and never declined.

He stopped caring after Tony reached his prime, and his knee got worse around the same time, forcing him to have to lose weight and change his game a bit. He could get a good 20 if he had really tried he just didn’t care unless it was the playoffs after a certain point

I have a little bit of a feeling that he is very much ok with that.

Different eras. During his peak he was playing on the slowest team in the slowest era.

2001-2003 seasons (His MVP seasons) he averaged 25.5 and 23.3 ppg, good enough for 5th and 7th in scoring. This year #5 is 28.6 and #7 is 28.3. It’s a little odd comparing eras because there’s still usually only a couple guys averaging 30+, but the scoring drop off is way less severe.

Worth noting he was the win shares leader both seasons.

There are a lot of players in the Hall of Fame who “could have been” and didn’t get over the hump.

He’ll probably be the new Mitch Richmond as the go-to example of ‘Hall of Very Good’

He’s in because the Basketball HOF for whatever reason is pretty lax. I think a similar career in baseball or football doesn’t get it done. Although I did recently call him NBA Frank Gore and that guy is for sure getting into the HOF.
