Because he would often settle even in single coverage while hes more recently been far more willing to punish that, especially vs smaller defenders. Also his rebounding has also been better. Hes creating far more advantages for his team.

Their spacing hasnt changed. And Suggs doesnt change that. He shoots uncontested and often deep 3s.

What are you talking about. Help defense is not something that stops it being single coverage as its a response to you beating that coverage, im not talking about a soft double. The whole point is he wasnt forcing that help and creating advantages for his team. Getting the defense is rotation is always a good thing.

Also Paolo can actually pass tho his vision isnt amazing. Creating a simple read by drawing help allows him to use that more.

I think we just disagree about Suggs spacing. I do believe he makes certain things easier for Paolo but not significant spacing

Hes literally at league average TS% on drives and draws more fouls per drive than anyone other than Giannis. Also even the Magic can hit open 3s and even tho its not a great shot its still a better efficiency than his abysmal middy

And Suggs is also not a better spacer than their alternatives. They have 4 other players at higher % with over 4 attempts a game

I really like Paolo. Aggressive scorer, often takes the ugly shots other players care too much about their FG% to take later in the clock.

But he has a ceiling.

Still only shooting 30.4% from 3, with 0.6 steals and 0.2 blocks in the last 5 with the Magic 4-1 including games against Dallas, Washington and the Bucks.
