Bam Adebayo is having an amazing second half of the season, despite middling shooting at times. He is averaging a double double and 2.0 stocks a game, as well as being the engine for the Heat’s lockdown defense this season.

While he may not be a scorer, he is certainly no bum.

Couldn’t agree more. Ball dominant scorers are the most overrated players in the league, not because scoring isn’t important, but because so many other things are too.

He was SO bad offensively in December but since the turn of the year he’s been fucking awesome. It’s so sad that the heat continue to be in this middling spot out east because Bam’s stock keeps falling. He was the second best player on two finals rosters. He’s only gotten better since.

Averaged 18/10/4 for both of those finals run, while holding Giannis (2x), Jokic, and Embiid in those runs WAY below their season shooting splits. Giannis especially had a historically inefficient shooting that first 2020 run and then Embiid in 2022

I’d argue another few years, he’s passing Pau Gasol in the rankings and a few others, which will put him in the top 100. Two way players deserve their places in that ranking over pure shooting guards

To be fair that’s more of a byproduct of Heat basketball. NOBODY scores 40+ for the Heat nowadays.

Take 2021-2022 for example. We were the 1 seed, and not a single player scored more than 40 points all regular season until Oladipo dropped 40 in the last game of the year in garbage time.

Last year, I think we had maybe 3 40pt games all year. This year, this is our second 40pt game I think

Around two months ago Bam scored 30 on like ⁴⁄₆ shooting from three and someone told me he’s a bum and he won’t score that high again. We’ll just have to wait and see but I would absolutely not take the bet that he won’t hit 40 again. Especially since he just added the 3 pointer to his arsenal last year.
