[Highlight] Jaylen Brown has to be restrained by security personal after ejection
I’ve never seen him that pissed
Wish they let him have at it. Let him get it out like Draymond every game.
Draymond is protected like a Faberge egg. The leash he gets compared to everyone else is astonishing.
Draymond probably doesn’t even get the 1st tech here. Definitely not the 2nd
You’re on crack lol, Draymond gets the first tech all the time. It’s just the 2nd one they hesitate to give.
I think he meant draymond wouldn’t get a T for mouthing off and being held back, which is what got JB his first tech. Draymond does that every other game.
The second one JB went at the ref, which is the more understandable tech to be called.
Maybe picks one up after a minute or two of putting the ref in a choke hold.
It genuinely is
I’ll never understand how Draymond gets away with so much with the players and the refs. It’s like he’s Adam Silver’s godson or something
its cause in 3 halfs agaisnt yall we have 8 free throws. shits a joke
That’s wild if true. Feel like Spurs get a very favorable whistle for having not been in the playoffs for years. Obviously they propping up Wemby but still.
Depends on what you view as a favorable whistle. I think both games against Boston have been poorly officiated at Boston’s expense. But go watch how teams defend. Victor night in and night out every one of our games. Just stare at him and tell me that we have a Super favorable whistle.
He gets the absolute paced smacked out of him constantly with officials just letting it happen.
At the end of the day, the NBA kind of has a refing problem in general and I think there are very few t if any, teams that consistently get a favorable whistle Every single night. The league simply sucks doing its job, is wildly inconsistent, and doesn’t seem to understand its own rules from play to play, player to player, games game
Wemby was literary hit in the face and started leaking blood on a on call while driving to the basket. Then a defender runs in to him when he’s dribbling the ball at the top of the key and is called for a foul. Don’t see him crashing out
Wemby was clearly poorly refereed during other games like against Detroit were the guys were literally clinging to him lol I can understand the argument because he’s the future face of the league but he’s not being given preferential treatment right now
lol, Wemby gets mauled every possession and rarely gets a whistle. Dudes literally holding his arms/jersey down trying to prevent him from getting rebounds. Nothing. And defensively the Spurs are coached well and draw among the fewest fouls in the league consistently. Most foul calls come in near the basket. Wemby existing prevents players from wanting to drive in that area.
This is a wild take, and the fact people even up voted it is insane. Favorable whistle? What a funny way to say you don’t watch the Spurs play
Fun fact, “Yall” as a plural of “you” has a defined word in most European languages, like “vous” in French, “ihr” in German, “ustedes” in Spanish, “sibh” in Irish. In old English it used to be “ye”, still used a lot across Ireland to this day
halves, bro
Which is why he got the two techs refs get spooked if a quiet dude gets angry
Beware the wrath of the patient man. Or so the saying goes.
Only the penitent man will pass…
I mean the way he responded. Definitely deserved the two tecs Where I get pissed with the league is how stupidly inconsistent they are about calling technicals.
There are some players that can literally write out an entire dissertation and roast of the refs and nothing happens, and then some other game. They’ll actually decide they want to follow their own precedent and rules. It’s just ridiculous
My two cents on ejections, if you’re going to react like that you won’t have much of a hill to stand on when talking about the ejection later. You wanna take a fine in the postgame presser or something sure but the “Hold me back” shit doesn’t help you when you’re supposed to leave in a timely matter. That’s collectively bargained.
I’ve always found it hard to really criticize in the moment, especially during a game. He’s carrying a massive mental and physical load and emotions are running high. It’s an important game and they are trying to win all of them.
I was a bouncer at a dive bar and I’ve also worked a lot of private security for events. I’ve dealt with a lot of people who can get emotional when stressed. And it doesn’t help when the people who are trying to extricate you from the situation have their hands on you. There’s no time to let someone “cool-down” on the floor. Time is money, they need to get him off the court and into the locker room. The best way to do that is to physically move the person. It just adds additional stress to an already stressful situation.
As long as Jaylen feels genuine remorse about it, I can forgive someone for an occasional outburst, as long as no one got hurt. I’d have a lot less friends in my life if I judged everyone off their worst moments. 😎
Except when he’s asked to get the covid vaccine.
Not a JB fan, but my respect for him doubled. He looked like a scary fella.
I’ve never seen this man so livid
Waiting outside in the parking lot mad
Ref gonna be camping inside the stadium to duck that😭
Bro already tweeted lol
Honey Nut Cheerios
‘MELO! Ova a BASKETBALL GAME?!?’
You can tell by the way he reacted that he was mad.
White is the one who surprises me.
Brown has had issues with the officials all season, he’s had to call them out publicly just to keep Boston from getting historically hosed.
At one point we were 1 game shy of breaking a 50-year record for consecutive games trailing in FTA. We were also like -9.6 in FT differential which would have been the worst mark in ESPNs recorded history (worst in the league is normally closer to -4).
I’ve never seen Brown like this, but I have seen him getting more and more frustrated all year long.
But you can see Derrick White also yelling at the officials and that’s completely out of character.
I’ve seen over 80% of Jaylen’s NBA games and can’t recall ever seeing him that pissed. There had to have been more going on than that push that wasn’t called (which wasn’t even that hard a shove, and the kind of thing refs miss all the time).
He was getting mugged all game with no whistle, because wemby took a hard foul early. Emotional reffing all game, and it culminated in the ruining of what would have been great game.
Yeah, I definitely think there was some carryover from the previous game too. Kind of felt like he came in with something to prove given how much contact was allowed on him in the first meeting between these two teams. I’m a Spurs fan but I don’t blame him for being frustrated. I don’t think it’s some Grand conspiracy or anything. I simply think the league sucks at refereeing their own product and are so stupidly inconsistent that it feels like they barely know the rules half the time
But I definitely don’t blame him for crashing out.
Partnering with gambling sites and constant inconsistent reffing means people are going to believe it’s corruption, regardless of if they’re just shit at their job or not.
Btw, idk if it would look better for the league if all their refs suck ass, or if there are a few corrupt refs.
The gambling, the excessive stoppages and ad time, and both soft and inconsistent calls by the refs. Yeah it’s not hard at all to imagine that the league has agendas they’re trying to push every week. I’m not a fan of the Silver era.
wemby took a hard foul
Would have been true if they had actually called it a foul. More like a swift palm to the nose that left Wemby discombobulated for quite some time. No foul called.
that’s what he means
Wemby got hit in the face and received a bloody nose and they didn’t call a foul, so they’ve been sucking off the Spurs ever since to say sorry
the refs have the ability to stop play and assess a foul from a bit earlier. they rarely ever do. (they did this for draymond when there was a foot grab/trip)
they should absolutely change this and issue retrospective fouls more often if they’re going to give “make-up” calls or passes to the other team instead.
can you stop for one second and actually consider what people are saying before locking in on just a few words
Once again the refereeing ruins an nba game
Game still good!
Kieth Smith from this athletic dug up a 7 year old tweet of his where he said players and coaches from multiple teams had told him they have a problem with Tyler ford because he gets emotional and gives out unnecessary quick technical fouls.
As a fan, there is no reason I should have to learn a refs name. And yet, I know a bunch of their names because they are such massive cunts. Fuck my chungus life
Didn’t watch much of the earlier part of the game, but feel like it’s either prior plays where they feel it’s not consistent if Spurs get a whole bunch of calls or get to be hyper aggressive.
Lame ass ejection ngl
the ejection was lame, and then JB just kind of detonated lmao. wonder if he gets a game for that
Silver will wait a week so he doesn’t miss OKC
Joe will bench everyone and suit up himself
Joe will handle Dort
In BJJ gear
I hope so lol I don’t want JT playing against Dort he makes me nervous
Tried to take out Jokic, Luka, and Wemby. Nerves are warranted
damn what a coincidence it’s those three players in particular
Yes… coincidence.
He detonated after the first tech.
I think Ford was going to let him vent a little more before tossing him.
the guy across the court tossing him seemed to make him even more upset lmao
You’re probably right. That 2nd tech was coming anyway. The only reason Brown stopped moving forward was that the whistle blew again, and his 3 teammates trying to stop him from getting in Ford’s face.
Worth it honestly. How many marquee matchups does a star have to get tossed from to get some competent zebras in the league I wonder? Loud quit
If he gets a game for that with everything Draymond does on a nightly bases and doesnt even get ejected for i will be pissed.
Don’t hate the tech but what are we doing with that ejection man
What’s funny is the ref who called the original tech looked like he was gonna let it go until the other ref called the 2nd
Exactly - he was totally non chalant and then the other ref was like “you know something, nobody ever notices me. Well maybe they’ll notice me now!”
The entire point of the first tech was to send a message to chill out, He got MORE aggressive after the first tech and continued yelling and pursuing the ref, idk what you expect after that. He got more aggressive after the first tech, what did anyone expect? Two techs is an ejetion no matter what. If you escalate your aggression after the first tech, it will always be a second, which is an ejection. JB was a fool for continuing to pursue the issue after he got teched
For real. Spoiled what was poised to be an epic national game, for everyone
He complained running down the court and the ref let him have that. Then he went back for more and pointed at him which is a T1 most of the time. Then he aggressively complained about the tech which is almost always a T2.
Boston fans should be more disappointed at JB than anything else. We were robbed of a potential classic but let’s not act like he didn’t overstep a line here.
Pander much?
What a way to fuck up a great game smh
i blame the second ref but jaylen as well, he should have tried to control himself after that first tech instead of going turbo ballistic
I kind of get it, second game against the Spurs where it was trending towards just no free throws called for the Celtics while calling everything on them. It was 12-2 at the time of the ejection while the first game a few months ago ended 20-4 FT
Yeah the ref let him yell a fair amount before that first tech
HE’S NOT PART OF THE TURBO TEAM.
YOU DONT RUN WITH US.
WALK. SLOWLY.
He can’t be yelling at the refs like that and get away with it. Who the fuck he think he is, Draymond?
how many fucking times has Draymond Green or LeBron got this heated and maybe got one tech? i just want consistency.
Bron has touched refs several times this season
0 techs as far as I recall
Lebron grabbed a ref by the collar in the suns game. Later hit brooks in the stomach, brooks retaliates, gets tossed. Bron gets grazed on a 3 ball to win it, gets the foul. Just insanity
LeBron would have been in the 3rd row if that push had happened to him.
I mean, one of those players is the greatest of all time.
And the other is Lebron.
KD? That you?
It’s the aggressively trying to get close to the ref after the first tech. Once you get the tech just walk to your bench.
Somehow even this turned into a LeBron hate thread lol shits crazy
Yea but nothing they’re saying is false. The bigger issue is the NBA doesn’t enforce any sort of consistency and it’s so egregious that it’s ruining their reputation
first-
fuck boston
second- you right. this is egregious
That’s my thoughts. I have no problem with that being a. Ejection. The rough was relatively patient with him before he went back for round two. And then he turned around again and went back to him once more.. Just can’t do that. I understand the second ref wanting to protect his guy
But to your point I’ve seen so many players act way worse than this and get a slap on the wrist
This was a highlight game at the end of the season. What a shame
Brought to you by draft kings.
this, exactly, you have to think nefarious when this happens
Bruhhhh
Man, you never see Jaylen this pissed off, that was crazy
Love watching prime time ref ball.
Even White was looking more demonstrative than I’ve seen him in a minute, I’m curious to see how the post game goes
That was a wild sequence
What Tatum’s return does to a muhfuker
His time as the star was fleeting like sand in his hands
Gotta love refs. They blow the call, the player yells at them, and their ego can’t handle it so they ruin a fun marquee matchup. This sucks. This was a great game.
Sort of like ego crazy cops ruining lives of someone running their lip.
The more we realize how similar people in authority are, the better.
What a fucking joke
Complete horseshit. We want to see the players
It was such a good game too. One T is fine, but an ejection there is ridiculous
Wasn’t even the ref he was jawing at either. Like at least let the mf he was talking to eject him if you’re gonna ruin the game💀
Exactly. A tech is deserved but an ejection is soft as fuck coming from the sideline ref
He was crashing out and rightfully so. Ruined a fun game.
Rightfully so? Castle barely touched him and he tried to sell the call. Complaining is one thing but absolutely losing it and getting yourself kicked out and possibly suspended for not leaving the court in a timely matter was a severe overreaction
The Spurs were being pretty physical under their basket the five minutes or so before that.
The Celtics were also very physical under the basket and Wemby got his pretty hard and was out for a bit.
Yeah, I was with Brown until I saw the replay. He 100% sold that hard. I get it, but you can’t get mad about it when no one is buying it.
Castles has been grabbing a foul everyone, felt more of a frustration on him not being called for it
Thing is this is probably his first ever full crash out, he gets angry but he doesn’t do shit like this.
As a key player you can’t be doing that after the first tech. I don’t see the Spurs players confronting refs life that after they miss pretty obvious face shots. They just get up and keep playing. You’ve gotta be more mature than that. Doesn’t mean he should’ve been ejected, but you can’t be blowing your lid over a pretty inconsequential call when you’re up.
I feel like everyone is ignoring that he was going after that ref to the point where teammates were trying to stop him after the first and before the second tech. Refs should keep their composure bc it’s a big game but he shouldn’t suck it up after a call he didn’t like in the second quarter during a big game ?
Baseball levels of soft by these refs
It ain’t even Tyler ford who tossed him, because he knew he fucked up, it was the other ref who had to “stand up for his fellow ref” 🙄
Ford gave him a lot of leeway before that first T, probably because he knew.
I understand being unhappy with the initial call… but then he completely lost it.
I’ll take the hate, I’m pretty sure the initial noncall was even fine. Yes Castle has his hand on him and you can’t say for sure that he wasn’t pushing but Brown absolutely oversold it looking for the call so maybe he thought it was a flop.
At the very worst, its a call you can see going either way
Fr it was a missed call but nothing crazy to trigger a response like that
well at this point he’s reacting to the ejection I’m thinking…
Im all spurs but that call was wrong, Castle pushed Brown out
And the ejection wasn’t deserved either
call was wrong but ejection was deserved, bro would not calm down lol i don’t know what else the refs are supposed to do, let him throw a five minute temper tantrum
This. Bad call, justified anger but also justified ejection, he went too far
I agree. Foul non-call was wrong. But he earned the ejection.
It wasn’t really a push from the replay
JB overreacted but holy shit what terrible reffing man. He got fucked by the refs in the first game against SA too. This is the product we’re paying to watch?
This is a mild Draymond reaction
Yeah, but Draymond should be tossed every fourth game simply out of principle at this point.
Overreaction by JB, overreaction by the refs. No reason to throw him out in the 2nd. Aint nobody coming to watch the refs
Based take. Hopefully the game still slaps.
Ya that’s lame. Just hit him with a T, no need to eject him unless he’s going super crazy after the tech.
That’s exactly what happened, he gave him the trip down the floor to yell, he kept going so he T’d him and then he kept going again after the T so they gave him another one.
Exactly, idk how anyone can say he didn’t deserve it
I think he did. He wanted to yell at the bald ref after his first T and kept fighting thru his teammates trying to hold him back
That’s what he did though, he got a tech and kept going got another tech and automatically tossed
And just like that I’m switching to watch the WBC
I’ve never seen my boy that pissed, sucks because him and Wemby was a godly match this game
Personnel
One minor call and dude flipped out.
The ejection sucks, but Brown isn’t the victim here. He aggressively started approaching the ref and security had to hold him back. That’s an automatic ejection every time. He has to be smarter.
Bruh moment all around
He flopped on a hand on his hip and then crashed out.
Let’s be real here.
I don’t like the ejection, but this all came from him overselling minimal contact. Watch the replays.
This is Luka shit, if we are being honest.
I do like the ejection, carry on like this for this long and you deserve to face the consequences, which are well known.
Tyler Ford is a fucking moron and Boston hasn’t gotten a single call in 6 quarters against SAS
I’m not even mad at Tyler ford, I’m more mad at the ref who gave him the second t when he wasn’t even talking to him
Classic cop behavior, have to stand up for my partner
What are you talking about? Celtics have gotten plenty of calls this game.
Fans: Stop whining to the refs. It is ruining basketball.
Also fans: The crash out was right. Refs need to let them scream in their face for minutes due to a minor no call.
The difference between the reaction to Luka yelling at the refs and Brown is actually insane to see
When Brown kept fucking going after being warned. If you’re having to be restrained by security, you’ve gone well past the line
Finally got two great teams playing against each other prime time and both teams are relatively healthy. And what do we get? The refs inserting themselves and making it about the refs. Terrible ejection.
Ref ball on NBC
Draymond and Dort can injure players and not even get fouls, but Brown gets ejected for that
Soft ass move by the second ref. Robbed us of a potentially great battle between him and Wemby this game.
What’s getting missed by a lot of comments here that dont follow Jaylen Brown is that he isn’t blowing his lid on the one missed call. He’s blowing his lid for the lack of calls missed in this game and the Celtics last game against the Spurs. On top of that he’s been calling out the entire NBA on how differently everyone gets officiated. What you’re seeing is the straw the broke the camels back. He did get pushed, it was embellished, but that foul probably should’ve been called. Then refs double down by tossing him which is just laughable and proves his point that he’s been making all season where different players get called differently because we’ve seen Jokic, LeBron, and Draymond all have longer leashes.
Appreciate this context 💯
Ref told him the earth was round.
The call he wanted would have been soft as hell. Castle gave a little push away with one hand, arm didn’t even extend, and Brown flopped into the first row to try to sell it.
His reaction seemed wildly out of proportion, even before he got the first tech.
The crazy part is we’ve seen Draymond do infinitely worse after getting one tech and stay his ass in the game. It’s fucking crazy.
Guys, cmon. He was begging for that tech
Jaylen gets one of the worst whistles for a guy that has the ball in ISO and drives into contact consistently. It’s because he doesn’t bait calls and plays ethical ball, but the refs treat him like some 2nd year g-leaguer call up sometimes
Refs ruined the game tonight
What a baby
Refs are allowed to do whatever they want and its hurting the game.
We gotta give them some sort of accountability….
Gotta watch yourself once you get the first tech. But once you get a second, might as well get your money’s worth and clock the ref.
He has every right to be furious. Whether you agree or not he believes he is contending for MVP. This is a big game for him and they blew a missed call on an obvious foul the led to the turnover.
The first T was warranted but the ref ejecting him from across the court should be fired
Crashing out in the first half of an important primetime game is certainly not a way to help your MVP case
I’m a Spurs fan, the game was ruined for me so I stopped watching
He def deserved to be ejected but god damn he got fouled like 4 diff times with no calls
Am I tripping ? Bro is crashing out over a light push and yall saying the refs didn’t have to give him that 2nd tech ? He was begging for it lol
Who paid these clowns to throw this game??
Placed a big fat asterisk on this game. That sucks.
Not sure why that very light push was the hill to die on here. If he wanted to make a point on how fouls were being called there’d likely have been other chances in the game. No need to crash out. He went off like he had Luka’s home life going on or something. Just chill.
Worst refs in sports . Earning the hate lol
Refs are crooked in every sports league
Refs are a joke
Me sitting down to watch a primetime game in March that I’m somehow excited for. I go to get my food come back….Thanks guys. Unless he assaulted someone you can’t give him a second T. This is entertainment, NBA regular season is in fucking shambles.
What a lame ass ejection. That ref is a weasel.
this refs are so bad 🧑🦯
It doesn’t really help his case that he didn’t do anything that bad if security has to get involved…
He might even be right about whatever but he’s signing up for something else he deserves here.
Not the MVP
Who was the clown that put roids on the hair ink?
Personal 🤣
Did ref tell Jaylen it’s Tatum’s team
Complete joke, thought I was watching baseball after the other ref not even involved threw him out
Horrible missed call
Needs to be better at controlling his emotions if he wants to be a #1/the guy leading a team. Yeah, the bump out of bounds was missed, but it’s a reg season game in the home stretch of the season, big matchup, tons of eyes on you tonight. Hardly worth losing your shit over.
Just say your piece, earn that first tech…then just move on.
Maybe DWhite or JT should have grabbed JB and gotten him outta there before he got the second?
Sometimes you gotta get your boy out before he hurts himself (and the team).
I am at the game, and that was like the third turnover in a row. You could see it was pissing him off. He ran down jawing at the ref, and then when he got T’d up (I assume, hard to tell) he got irate.
First tech was absolutely deserved. The ref let Brown get away with a lot of spitting at him because he def knew he fucked up the call. But once Brown turned around and came at him again, he absolutely had to get a tech. The second tech is a little different though. I understand why he got it because Brown was not doing himself any favors. I do think they should have given him like a few more seconds to stop though before they ejected him.
This doesn’t show the whole picture
Ngl brown has to be smarter he walked down the ref twice
If I was Joe, I would punt this game. Give everyone the night off.
😂 made himself flop 😂
Flops out of bounds and proceeds to lose his shit because he turned the ball over
In the next CBA, players really need to push to able to verbally harass the refs in game, any type of slur
I hope the personal didn’t take it personnel!
If Buffalo is yelling at you, you probably in the wrong.
