Oh I’m not complaining by any means. BroLo started off the season rough, but that was in large part because our 2nd unit was fucking old as dirt with Cp3/Batum/BroLo. Since he joined the starting lineup, he clearly is still a great interior presence + has looked solid enough on offense.

Issue is that we have no real size depth behind him, and he’s ultimately killed on switches + struggles to be quick enough to grab rebounds. Yanic was huge for us because he added great pace, a lob threat, and he was switchable on defense.

Yeah, this was his downfall even on the Bucks. You are forced into drop coverage with him, which just doesnt work against certain teams.

He has never been much of a rebounder, much more of the ‘box-out and let your team do the stat stuffing’ but he doesnt have Giannis anymore so his deficiency there becomes a lot more present.

Spot on. Yanic just covered quite a few weaknesses, but missing Yanic AND Collins is absolutely killer.

Drop coverage can work, but we see teams spam this, and without any depth… we’re kind of forced to just suffer. Luckily Dunn/DJJ are elite enough defenders that they can navigate screens well to kind of challenge the ball handler well enough though, but more elite facilitators still punish us. That’s a pretty big reason why you see Ty stick to his guns on a guy like Ijax with the bench, because having BroLo try to work screening action with Mathurin or Jordan Miller would be…. Bad.

The rebounding is also tough but Collins was starting to pick up the slack.

Yeah, I think both sides kind of underrated the move for their respective teams. Harden at this point in his career is still probably a better player than Garland is ever likely to be. He’s able to be more impactful on defense due to quick hands + size, and he’s simply a better offensive player. On the other hand, Garland hasn’t even hit his prime yet, brings a lot to LAC, and is clearly a very good PG for the future. Was a clear win win for the both teams and I think a necessary change of scenery.

Mike Brown will be fired at the end of the season. He is doing literally the exact same things that got Thibs fired. The psychotic obsession with Josh Hart as a starter and defensive strategy of collapsing the paint and double teaming leading to 50 open threes every game are why Thibs is not coaching, and will be the reason Brown is gone after year. The starting lineup with Hart puts the team in a double digit deficit literally every single game.
