Lakers fans are always saying Doris is so biased against them but in this game she kept praising their defense and Luka’s scoring
Doris is annoying not bc she is “biased” but because what is happening on the court does not align with what she is saying, much of the time.
For example - there was a play where she was praising Diawara’s defense on Luka despite him clearly commiting multiple cross body reach-in fouls - she then follows that up by highliging Brunson scoring against Luka and saying he has gotten that all game despite Brunson being like 1⁄5 against Luka up to that point.
She also then went off on the Lakers for challenging a play in which Maxi was hit in the face & bled during a Kat drive as if the Lakers were crazy to think it was a foul. And to be fair - I don’t think the Kat play was a foul bc I think Maxi’s face was in the line of movement - but to praise the Knicks blatant fouling and to then go off on a iffy Lakers foul call is laughable.
I don’t think this is specifically a Lakers issue - I think she just likes talking.
My main complaint is she goes off on tangents at the wrong times, often when something interesting is happening and the play by play guy can’t even get a word in.
The good color commentators (think Aikman in the NFL), will literally stop mid-sentence if something is developing so that the play by play can call it
Dude Diwara straight hacked the fuck out of Luka on that play and she was glazing him. Every time she calls a game there are multiple plays where I realize she had a talking point ready to go and just shoehorns it in at the first opportunity.
