I’ve come around on defensive rebounding being a super underrated portion of defense. Now that defenses have to fly from corner to corner there’s way fewer players in position to get the board. 

Yeah it’s pretty clear he’s still rusty and not in game shape, but it’s still amazing getting to watch him again. Dude just impacts the game in so many ways even when his shot isn’t falling

I think the way his minutes are staggered is going to make it tough for him to have a good shooting night. Plays the 1st 6 minutes, then sits the rest of the quarter. And in the 2nd half today, after his 6 minute stint at the start, he didn’t come back in until the final 6 mins of the game. So it’s going to be impossible for him to keep a rhythm going like that.

Once he gets into game shape hopefully they can get him playing normal minutes

Celtics should be thrilled. He already looks like he’s moving pretty well. A few more weeks to shake off the rust and he should be playing at a very high level

I’m anticipating him getting significantly better this year from just getting in shape.

Nah he definitely did have a reason. Right now it’s the regular season so he’s able to play weird minute rotations while he’s getting back into game shape. That wouldn’t work in the playoffs. He has been playing just about 6 minutes per quarter, either at the start or the end.

This way, by the playoffs he should be fully back into shape with no minutes restrictions

KD and especially Tatum had it relatively young and also helps they are relatively lanky.

Yeah, he looks not 100% on certain possessions and then there are some at the end of his minutes where he looks slower because he’s tired. Just needs to get back into shape.

In American Football, Cam Akers tore his achilles in training camp in June or July. He came back for the playoffs that same year in 5 and a half months if I remember correctly.

Kobe did it in like 8 months I think he got injured in April came back in December

I mean, I get what you’re saying as far as not telling the whole story with the stats. But yeah I don’t expect him to shoot very well with the way they’re managing his minutes. He plays 6 mins then gets iced until the next quarter. In the 2nd half, he sat out about 12 straight game minutes. He was shooting extremely well in the 1st Q, but it’s almost impossible to keep a rhythm going with minutes like that
