Not shit talking, just a pure fun fact cause I was doing some research:

Jokic’s 60 point game also came in a loss. And guess to which team? The timberwolves! (minus KAT as he was traded by then)

Teams are 65-26 in games where they had a player scoring at least 60 points.

That’s obviously a lot better than 50% but it’s far from a lock. I don’t think it is that uncommon a dynamic is the opponent lets one player score a lot if they think it improves their chances of beating them.

You’re completely correct. I was at the Charlotte game and it was traumatizing. It was a lot of fun at the beginning but it turned into a disgusting and shameful display and we ended up losing because of it. I do think KAT was fouled on the last shot of the game but he didn’t deserve any help from the basketball gods that evening. You could feel the collapse coming and knew the Wolves weren’t going to make any kind of adjustment to stop it. Just one of those games where no one wants to be coached. It was embarrassing. 

The only silver lining was the fact that everyone on the team was working toward it: like it wasn’t some dude just chucking the ball every chance he got at the expense of his teammates’ happiness - they were forcing the ball to him and he just ran with it. But that almost made it more infuriating because what the fuck man, can someone just knock an open jumper? 

The other thing is that it just happened to be the same night where Embiid dropped a 70 burger. People forget this, but we all know NBA players watch stats and it was just clear that it was on everyone’s mind and wanted KAT to top Embiid.
