Even though Draymond and Beef Stew might disagree, the NBA is not actually a wrestling showcase and assholes like Dort - and especially Dort since he literally pretends he doesn’t do anything wrong every single time - need to be gone from the league.
The NBA is courting another Rudy T. incident with this. Just remember: when Jokic lost his shit recently, the one who took the brunt of his wrath was Jaylin Williams, not Dort.
Eventually, someone will snap and one of the players trying to break things up will be the one to get hurt. That’s what happened with Rudy Tomjanovich: he was the one that got clocked by Kermit Washington even though he was just trying to break the fight up.
The NBA also has to realize that two of its successful young teams, the Thunder and Pistons, have leaned into this aggressive physical style that borders on dirty. Back in the late 80’s, that exact same shit’s what led to the Bad Boy Pistons and the dawn of the dead ball era. Dead ball hoops with wrestling defense is a shit product and the league needs to come down really hard on it to prevent it from proliferating. The Thunder (especially) and Pistons don’t need to do any of that crap to be successful but if those guys win, this copycat league’s going to see more bullshit like that.
I grew up watching that era of the late 80’s to the late 90’s. Outside of MJ’s Bulls, the product was mostly garbage. Do not believe the old heads that pound and ground is a better product than the fast-paced, skill-intensive hoops we have today.
What angers some older fans (other than players not sticking around) isn’t even the threes per se: it’s players not taking guaranteed layups in favor of passing to the wings for 3’s. That has nothing to do with missing thug basketball.

I wonder, outside of the work Jayson did, how much the speed with which he had surgery was a contributing factor to his recovery?
They repaired it in less than 24 hours. It’d be interesting to see what medical professionals have to say about it but as a lay person, I suspect that it helped immensely.
