NEW STORY: I covered Jayson Tatum’s return game — and here’s what I observed. Inside the sights, sounds, and emotions of a very special night at TD Garden.
Noa, been following you on Twitter from the jump. I freakin love you!! From one boston basketball girlie to another, keep climbing!! 💚
Noa pieces get instant clicks. Quality coverage right here.
To wit, this paragraph:
“But this time was different. Tatum took the podium still in his basketball clothes. Perhaps an unintentional decision, it was deeply profound at the same time. The very same star who is normally eager to put on a more curated outfit just wanted to wear his uniform just a moment longer.”
That’s great stuff right there Noa.
I’m emotional, man.
I watched Tatum’s first nba game still in the hospital following an insane injury to my lower body that should have paralyzed me. lemme tell ya, watching with shattered legs, I identified with gordon Hayward that night. but I was also lucky. I bounced back quickly and entirely. there were several moments along the way where I overcame big hurdles, and the emotion that came with it was always big.
the biggest of them all was setting my sights on hiking 8 months after the accident, and then doing it in less than 6. last night, seeing the relief in his body language as he hung on the rim- I felt like I was back on top of that mountain.
I’m so fucking proud of this guy. there’s no one else I’d rather have as the face of this franchise, and basketball as a whole is better with him back.
How can you not be romantic?
Great article
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Thank you Noa!
