Joe Mazzulla on Jayson Tatum’s return
Can’t believe the Celtics lucked into this guy because Ime couldn’t keep it in his pants
Best thing that could of happened to Boston
Ainge tried to hire him as lead assistant for Will hardy but Brad put the hold on it. He had a plan for Joe
Brad’s Plan
If the Jazz hadn’t hired Hardy, he almost certainly would have become the new head coach in Boston after Udoka’s ouster. Just missed that opportunity by about two months.
That was four years ago now, which is just crazy. Hope Hardy has a chance to really coach next season instead of just being a tank commander. He deserves better.
That was beautifully articulated. He seems to genuinely care about each guy. I did find the line at the very end “we cannot have a lesser version of him” interesting. I’m not sure what Joe meant there.
I would take it as if he is showing some struggle physically, they will take him out
I also took it as a mental thing. Like they need him to be in the right headspace even if physically he will have some growing pains working his way back to normal
coach of the year
Easily.
Fuck Ime for having an itchy jock, but also thank you Ime for having an itchy jock.
I want Joe to care about me like he cares about Jayson.
What a great coach 🥲
Love how he looks at Tatum’s recovery as an opportunity for the team to bond and support their teammate. And his comment about being grateful for be part of JT’s story. Cool guy
One of Joe’s greatest strength as a coach and person is definitely how he looks at every situation as an opportunity for to strive for something positive
Seemed a little rusty first but got the rust off pretty quickly
Didnt realize how many times he uses “uhhh” and “ummm” when he talks
